It's that time of year again. Summer is here and the kids are out of school and the summer is just taunting you to fire up the grill. The summer is whispering it wants a Sandlot movie type of neighborhood cookout. So you fire up the grill and you throw on the meat.......so what do you grill? I feel like it could be alot of things, but if it's not at least one hotdog than you are just not a true American. I think it would come down to hotdogs or steak for me. What says you?

Chicken halves. Chicken grilling is a distinct aroma of summer.

Chicken thighs

You can do so many things with boneless skinless chicken thighs.

I was telling my wife this the other day. We walked outside and I said that someone was BBQing some chicken. It smelled so good and reminded me of going to my grandfather's house on Sunday for BBQ.

Deer sirloins churrasco style

Ribeyes with salt/pepper or a little bit of a simple spice blend

Chicken thighs, bone-in/skin-on, ton of seasoning and as much sauce as I can get on them at the end

Burgers

Whole chickens if I can include a smoker-side one

Thick onion slice with all layers intact, slit-cut on one side because then I rub with a ton of seasoning and some brown sugar, grilled to a little crispy.

Did you mean just 1? All the meat we eat is better grilled. Except bacon, maybe. And did you mean favorite to grill or favorite to eat after grilling? Because I love to eat all of the above but some are less fun to make.

If I’m having a Sandlot type cookout, then burgers and hotdogs. But my favorite things to grill are chicken wings and fresh sausage. Slather both in Sweet Baby Rays sweet & spicy with some baked beans and potato salad and I’m living life.

Fish.
Grilled crabs are great too, you put butter and seasoning on them basically like grilled oysters.
But halved blue crab.

Chicken thighs, cross cut ribs, fresh corn, thin beef cuts like flank or skirt.

Hot dogs are perfect for midweek action when you want to grill but don't have a lot of time.

I eat a lot of steak but I rarely toss it on the grill these days.

On the grill it is burgers and hotdogs for the quick meal. If time allows then steak, leg quarters, or meat loaf. On the smoker #1 is Dino Ribs, then pork ribs. Chicken comes in third. Sausage is usually done no matter what grill or smoker is used, or what the primary protein is.

Depends on what time of the year for some things.

I like to charbroil oysters in the fall when they are at their peak freshness.

Also fresh fish like redfish on the half-shell basted with garlic, lemon, herb butter sauce or nice thick tuna steaks cooked to no more than medium rare with just salt and pepper seasoning.

I grill more beef and chicken than anything but if I had to pick just one thing, it would be the oysters. I've NEVER had enough oysters when company was being fed because they disappear as quickly as they come off the grill----so I know they are a big hit.

Regular summer items:
- bone-in chicken thighs
- fresh corn is always on the summer grill
- boneless chicken thighs marinated in whatever
- bone-in pork chops marinated in whatever
- vegetables (squash, zuchini, onions, green beans, etc.)

The other day, I cut a sirloin roast into large pieces, marinated them in a store bought steak marinade and added a small can of pineapple juice. Then, I put them on a skewer (meat only) and grilled them. I grilled vetables separately (not on skewers). It was fantastic. Much better than kebobs with the meat and vegetables together. I'll be doing it again soon.

A little more detail here please? Sounds interesting.
