I can tell you this…I have never seen a state have more interstate closures than Louisiana.

This past Sunday on the way to Lafayette…an 18 wheeler hauling palm trees ran off the road near going westbound near Scott and the cab of the tractor was crushed; all westbound lanes closed.

Heading home to Houston the same afternoon all eastbound lanes of traffic outside of Iowa were closed due to a roll over accident that required a life flight.

Interstellar, Stiles Switch, and Peached Tortilla are in Cedar Park.

I’d jump my happy arse in a Waymo and go to Este, Suerte, Nixta, Cuantos Tacos, Paprika in Austin proper.

I use this one pretty often.

Chili lemon butter cobia
frick that place with a whole bag of dicks.

The director of BD for my business group lost his daughter there and Cile Steward has yet to be found almost a year later.

Any other good Hill country resort you would suggest?

With kids? Hill Country Hyatt…they just added a lagoon.
Al T’s has been closed for a good 5 years or so.

It is now a Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp.
Roasted grouper with radish beurre blanc at Little’s Oyster Bar here in Houston
Swordfish au poirve at Navy Blue also here in Houston
Are you talking about Chisholm Trail on the south side of town? Woof.

The shoulder clod, sausage and smoked chicken at Kreuz are all just fine…you shut your suck.
I’ll drop even lower on the BBQ hierarchy…if you haven’t had the smoked half chicken from the Pit Room you need to try it…incredible.
Truth, Pinkerton’s, Pit Room are all close to each other in terms of quality…splitting hairs.

I live within a 3 minute drive of Truth BBQ but rarely find myself there, mostly because the lines are stupid. I think Truth has the best sides.

Pinkerton’s has the best actual bbq of the three for me…their sides could be better…at least at the original location…haven’t been to the new one in the Montrose yet. If you want pork ribs, this is the place for you.

Pit Room has a more Tex Mex slant…get the tacos here, or sub the white bread you get with any 1/2/3 meat plate for tortillas. Original location is in Montrose, it’s tiny…the Memorial location is just as good and has an expanded menu…best god damn club sandwich in the city.

My son has ridden in NRG…couldn’t convince my daughter.

To get selected to ride before the concert you have to enter a lottery…and either know someone on the committee who has pull or get really lucky.

If you get picked to ride in the stadium, you don’t get a choice of what day, they tell you not to practice…which even if you do doesn’t matter anyway because the dipshits who put your kids on the animal usually don’t get them in a good centered position and they usually end up falling off, and lastly, if your kid is crying or refuses to get on they get skipped and don’t get another chance.

But as someone else said you can have your kid ride on the fairgrounds outside NRG with much less pressure.

Well that’s your problem right there…the food is mid to begin with and was always just a place for the gram.
If the traffic gets any worse at the I-10/I-45 interchange downtown I’m going to close up shop too.
Bollo? Kiran’s?

You must be fricking high.
Pinkerton’s has a spot in San Antonio.

I know this isn’t bbq…but if I’m ever in Austin, I absolutely go out of my way to make sure I eat at Este.
The older child went to the same school my kids do…incredibly sad.
Derian Hatcher should wreck Benn’s shite for his half assed captaincy the last few years.
It’s entirely up to Dan Friedkin at this point. Shake a little of that Gulf States Toyota money loose Dan.
