I like it all but if I had to pick I guess green bean casserole. It’s usually the only time of the year I eat it.

Anyone have a good recipe? Interested to see if there’s any variations in the way people make it or we all make it the same

I've been using Donald Link's recipe from his Real Cajun cookbook for several years now and everyone loves it. One of my favorite things to make and eat for the holidays.

My in-laws do a seafood version and also a ground meat version.. served side by side. I love both. I'm partial to the meat, but both are great. I am not from New Orleans and did not grow up on this, so it was fun to learn about.

I tried to make it once, but I'm apparently allergic to the skins/touching it from the sap that's on it. Hands were on fire trying to prepare it. Apparently it's a somewhat common allergy.

Family also takes the mini tri-color peppers and stuffs them with a meat/breadcrumb/etc. stuffing. Awesome with tons of gravy ladled on top. They make us a bunch of extra stuffed peppers and I can vacuum seal them for later in the year very easily.

usually the case, my poor brother has to suffer at the in-laws with healthy options and purchased dishes.

My sister in law was shocked when we cooked everything. She had no idea that thanksgiving turkey could actually taste good

I could feed almost everyone here at my mom’s house for Thanksgiving. There is a staggering amount of delicious food across many different categories. Seafood, traditional, grab and go, etc.

It’s a blessing to be a part of it. We usually invite many elderly people from church, random folks stop by to eat a plate, and of course, I have a huge family so we all dine like swine and count our blessings.

ETA: I have a smoked turkey on order from Superette in Eunice to bring up to my folks house this year.

Don't think its a "Thanksgiving dish" so to speak but my dad always deep fries Cornish hens. Probably my favorite thing to eat.

Sadly over the years the Thanksgiving Dinner has splintered a bit as family issues arise and as my grandmother is no longer capable of doing the cooking. But my grandmother's cooking that I loved the most: cornbread dressing, homemade mac n cheese and banana pudding.

Same with mine. They weren’t even eating warm turkey before they merged with my families Thanksgiving

Cornbread dressing is by far my favorite.

I gotta say I can't stand oyster dressing. My MIL makes it - oyster and ground beef with trinity and stock then baked. It's beyond repulsive. Fishy ground beef casserole.

My mother's family dressing- ground beef and pork, finely diced veggies, crumbled day old cornbread.

My wife's family dressing, a more traditional cornbread/biscuit mixture is good, but 1-2 servings is all I need to satisfy me for the year.

Sous vide turkey is ugly as homemade sin and the skin is inedible but my goodness does it taste good.

Cornbread dressing and sweet potato casserole (like someone else said, the kind with crunchy pecan and brown sugar topping)

Sweet potato casserole and ham, on a cheap brown and serve roll, followed by some good homemade Mac and cheese and cornbread dressing is very high in the running of my personal "last meals"
