re: Fourchon Fishing Report

They need to put a limit on those things. I've seen some boats coming back with 50-60+ of really nice sized fish. Don't want those things to get overfished. I love them.
Doodle tats - the worst thing a smoking hot woman can do. You don't put bumper stickers on a Lambo.

Genealogy & Ancestry

Posted by MarsellusWallace on 3/18/26 at 8:23 am
Have any of yall done Ancestry.com or 23&me? My family is fairly well documented on both sides going back to the early 1800s but my dad has hit a block there. I'm curious to know more about my ancestral origins and am looking at both of those platforms. Any feedback on which is better?
Lapayere as well. They fly under the radar by design.

Best Scott LA Butcher

Posted by MarsellusWallace on 1/29/26 at 5:06 pm
Going to be passing through Scott later this weekend. I've always stopped at Billy's but am wondering if I should branch out. Suggestions on which of the other butcher's I should try?

TIA
Zero Hedge consistently offers worst case scenarios, that often do not play out. Prices likely to go up, but these yahoos are in the business of clicks. Do not forget that.
Where the hell is Dick Winters?
Venice area

Saturday - two man limit. Mixed bag of pintail, few widgeon, and teal.

Fog was bad on Sunday and only killed three. Did not see many ducks at all as we poked around the lease to see what was going on. Looks like the ducks got up and left Saturday night.
I took my son offshore at 7. He sat in my lap in a fighting chair and cranked on a blue and a sail. Still talks about it. All about the kid's eagerness - if he has the bug, let him go. Don't force it though.
Underrated: Upper Midwestern & high elevation lakes in the summer.

- Door Country Wisconsin
- Western shore of Michigan - Traverse City
- Whitefish Lake Montana
- Lake Pend Orille Idaho
Has anyone tried Prime Shrimp? I think it's the Laitram people behind it and the shrimp are from South America. We bought some and they were good.
Not sure about the Wednesday question. Never bumped into that when I go.

I love the Italian, the Gandolfini, and the sausage and peppers sub (can't recall the name).

The pasta salad is good as well. Get a container to go with your sandwich.

Harbour Island Fishing Rec

Posted by MarsellusWallace on 11/11/25 at 10:15 am
Headed to Harbour Island next year and would like to fish a day or two while I am there. Does anyone have a recommendation for the area? Open to shallow water for bones or offshore.

Thanks in advance.
Great billfishing though. Can catch tons of sails and blue marlin most of the year.
I fished on the Rhino Charger as well. Booked my first full day down there for a trip and the last day - spreading out in case one day was a blow out. Glad I did, first day was rough and windy. Only caught a few mahi. Second day went 10-12 on sails with my son and he caught a massive bull mahi. Great day. Rates were reasonable and the guys worked hard.
I gotta say I can't stand oyster dressing. My MIL makes it - oyster and ground beef with trinity and stock then baked. It's beyond repulsive. Fishy ground beef casserole.
