Harbour Island Fishing Rec

Posted by MarsellusWallace on 11/11/25 at 10:15 am
Headed to Harbour Island next year and would like to fish a day or two while I am there. Does anyone have a recommendation for the area? Open to shallow water for bones or offshore.

Thanks in advance.
Great billfishing though. Can catch tons of sails and blue marlin most of the year.
I fished on the Rhino Charger as well. Booked my first full day down there for a trip and the last day - spreading out in case one day was a blow out. Glad I did, first day was rough and windy. Only caught a few mahi. Second day went 10-12 on sails with my son and he caught a massive bull mahi. Great day. Rates were reasonable and the guys worked hard.
I gotta say I can't stand oyster dressing. My MIL makes it - oyster and ground beef with trinity and stock then baked. It's beyond repulsive. Fishy ground beef casserole.

We hunt on the west side in Venice and my partner said we have a good number of pintails and some teal. No grey ducks yet.
If you have both CLEAR and Precheck, you very rarely have to wait longer than 10 mins or so. Often just walk right through. Worth whatever the cost is.
Same as Galatoires. Good service and booze, but bad food.

Piccadilly level veggies. The sautéed veggie - squash, zucchini, and bell peppers - is something a high school kid could do.

Smoked duck, smoked and fried soft shell, and the veal are good. But the rest the execution is just not there.

I'll die on this hill. Would rather go to Patois down the street. Food is exponentially better for the same price.
Clancy's is garbage. Uptown Galatoires. Proteins are fine but the sides and veggies are terrible. No stars.
Gotta love "Come on down to the Silver Slipper..."
Why use cast aluminum instead of cast iron for gumbo making?
You are wrong. We've been going for Christmas Eve for decades. Judge Williams usually does an impromptu ceremony naming one of the ladies there the Queen of Christmas Eve and she parades around with a table cloth draped over her with a septer of French Bread.

I'd eat the shite out of that.
What do you guys put on cuts while you are hunting or fishing this time of the year and in the marsh? Vibrio is still hanging around and I was wondering what you guys keep in your blind bag or on the boat as an antiseptic. Heard some guys keep a mix of peroxide and alcohol. Just curious.

Did you find any snapper around there? I hit it twice in last 6 weeks and struck out both times. Had to run to south pass for fish.

Teal Season

How is everybody feeling about teal season this year? We hunt around Venice and sounds like there are a few birds in the area. Hope to make a teal & red snapper cast and blast this weekend.

Would you rather....

Get a lap dance from a stripper to just took a poo, or from a stripper who has to take one and is holding on tight.

Thanks in advance.
