We'll be in BR next week and have plans to meet up with friends for dinner and Roux 61 has been suggested. The menu looks good. Anything to recommend? Anything we should steer clear of?...

Tried to use up a lot of what was in the fridge while also making it light and summery because it's crazy hot. Pasta salad (pepperoni, mozzarella pearls, marinated mushrooms, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, grape tomatoes, Greek feta dressing) Deviled eggs Fresh pineapple...

Beef/lamb gyro kit from Sam's. Comes with meat, pita, feta cheese, spicy feta sauce, and tzatziki. We had lettuce, cucumber, and red onion for topping....

Stopped for Tex-Mex after running errands. Split some queso with chorizo. I had street tacos...one pastor, one barbacoa. My dude had chicken mole enchiladas. We each had a couple of margaritas...rocks, no salt....

I'd go to Mingo Falls. It's not a hike, it's basically a flight of stairs up the mountain, but the waterfall is so, so worth it. Also, if you're taking the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad (which I assume is the train ride to which you're referring), it's possible your layover will actually be at ...
