re: Mechanics of the OT - AC Question

Posted by sleepytime on 4/27/25 at 9:07 pm
You have to have enough refrigerant in the system to condense it to a low pressure liquid. That why it's running but not cooling.
It's the drivers more than the roads. People driving slow in the left lane only, rolling roadblocks of 18 wheelers and trucks hauling campers taking 4 miles to pass each other and the people raging from sitting in the mess or just driving like maniacs makes for a dangerous mix. The I-12/I-55 cloverleaf interchange was designed for 55mph interstate speeds needs to be redesigned. I-12 would benefit from being 6 laned all the way through to account for the ever increasing amount of traffic.

Most banks can increase your withdrawal limit subject to management approval. They don't like to do it because they are taking in more risk if someone happens to get your card and withdrawal info. I have to call every year otherwise they reset it to whatever the default amount is.
I sold a car to someone that said "don't judge me" right before paying for it in $5 bills. I definitely judged him and his girlfriend. The kids and I had a blast acting like mid 90's rap stars posing with stacks of cash.

Edit: we put the money in a box with an ozone generator to sanitize it before anyone else touched it.
Many shops are handicapped by their limited diagnostic capabilities. The really good scanners cost thousands of dollars plus thousands more for updates and you need multiples of them for different makes/models of cars. Cars have become much more complex in many ways and you have to have mechanics that can keep up with all the new cars, new technology, special tools, new scanners and it can be overwhelming. Keeping up with all the different cars can be like keeping up with hundreds of toddlers that all need something right away.

Why do these women……….talk like this……….with quick staccato words…….then pause…….then a spate of words……dramatic pause…… I remember hating that show Gilmore Girls, because they talked like that. Do they think it’s cute? Funny? Quirky? God forbid, professional?

I was thinking about this same subject lately and it's bothering me as well. It's been rampant in the psychobabble world but seems to mainstream now. The rising inflection at the end of a statement, usually coupled with emotional words or phrases is like the new age recipe to make something sound thought provoking or profound.

Most of their stores are like that. I greatly apprthst you can make an appointment, show up and be back on the road in under an hour. It also helps that they don't try to upsell you a bunch of other crap except maybe windshield wipers.

School me on excavators

I'm thinking about buying a used small 7000-12000 pound excavator. Are any brands better than others? Models to stay away from? What should I look for other than leaks and wore out pins? Any tips and advice are appreciated.
Are the recipes the same as the first cookbook?
Is New Orleans is keeping us from getting an F?

What the heck is going on with USPS?

Is everyone seeing 3-5 day delays on packages? It seems like the Baton Rouge sorting facility is some kind of black hole. I have multiple priority shipped items that are just sitting at the BR sorting facility and have been for days.

Could be the alternator going out, which will lead to a dead battery. It does sound like a bad connection though . Were you able to get it started?
Try mellowing the garlic in your recipe. Heat the minced/sliced garlic up in oil on low heat(150-180 degrees)for about 20 minutes and that will cook off most of the bitter compounds. Allicin cooks off around 140 degrees. Let is set until it's cooled off to the desired temp and follow the recipe as usual. That should help tremendously.
I tried making it a few times and it never tasted right. I just buy it from Costco now.

Check around and see if anyone does cured in place pipe lining. It's probably cheaper and definitely less intrusive than tunneling.

Edit: Looks like Accutemp in BR does this.
I got around to trying the carne and margherita pizzas after trying the mushroom/truffle one a few weeks back. The crust and toppings are all very good but the tomato sauce was kind of chef boyardeeish in flavor and texture and was lacking in acidity. Adding a few dollops of decent tomato sauce(Don Pepino) on top and cooking it longer made it much better. Throw the dried up frozen basil away and use fresh too. The mushroom and truffle pizza is the best of the bunch imo.
Get ice and water shield around the entire perimeter and in the valleys. Synthetic underlayment for everything else. If you need any soffit or fascia replaced, now is the time to take care of that.
They are not as reliable as a good mechanical transmission. If you tow, drive hard or drive in steep hills, get something else. Otherwise, sell it before the warranty is up.

My experience is they go 100-120k without many issues if they are serviced properly and not abused. Anything past 150k, you're on borrowed time.
I had leftover pork roast sandwiches the other day that was pretty dang delicious. Warmed up pork roast in gravy, rosemary bread, lettuce, tomato, onions Swiss cheese and mustard.
