re: US Citizen Deported by ICE

I am glad to know the left suddenly cares about due process again.

Obama didn’t have much use for due process when his administration chose to summarily kill a US teenager with a drone. due process denied US teen executed by Obama admin w/o due process.
It's Friday and I've been thinking about Teenjus all week. Can't wait until Sunday.

That's an awesome story. I also will likely never be confused with an actual turkey by a bobcat since I can't call to save my life.

Best home office multifunction solution

Posted by rmc on 4/24/25 at 2:28 pm
I don't need 80ppm. I don't need color. Just a solid multifunction solution for the house that gets the job done. Space isn't an issue. I have room for an enterprise type solution. Can be attached via network or usb to a computer.

Anyone have good things to say about recent purchases?

+1 for Joe. As an attorney - I view him as an expert in this area of law. I used to seek out his CLE presentations.

Not totally germane to the op but I am having my group benefits guy quote me the other options - my bcbsla group premium took a huge jump this year.

I still do not totally understand the push BCBSLA was making to change its organizational form.

Landry made NO crime a priority. A lot can be said about some of the other stuff he did, but one thing he got right was doing the State Police unit that is focused on NO.
Ryan P was known to put a little weight on also.

On Mar-a-Lago, my view is that if he committed fraud, he should be convicted and sentenced. I don't know if he committed fraud. I believe Weisselberg took a plea deal.

Well I am here to tell you that if DJT committed fraud then 99.9% of the western hemisphere needs to be locked up. There was no victim. The purported victim said they would do business with DJT again. In addition all statutes of limitation had run.

On the classified docs case, Biden handed back his docs without a fuss. Trump tried to avoid it. The two cases are not comparable, and I thought Trump was in the wrong.

If someone steals something, then hands it back without a fuss they shouldn't be arrested for theft? I'm not saying Trump had no culpability here. I don't know. But if he did, so did Biden. We could get into his declass powers and when/how/where they had to be exercised.

But I really don't want government to have this kind of power.

We are on the same page here. But, I've got some news for you. Whether they legally have the power or not is one thing. From a practical stand point its clear that they do. The last 5 years has made that very clear, from COVID forward.

Why is it you think they can't do that to you?

Maybe you were saying the same thing about a DA and Judge in NY trying to lock Trump up based on the tax assessed value of Mar a Lago. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were saying this same thing then.

Or about the documents case where Trump was prosecuted for the same thing Joe Biden did. Except, Joe was considered senile while holding the most powerful position on Earth. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were saying this same thing then.

Or J6ers, regardless of wrongdoing, who were deprived of due process.

Everyone likes to quote the poem First They Came when the shoe is on the other foot. Its human nature.

Had a relative that was told she could get the shot or not work there anymore. She chose not to work there anymore. That's a mandate.
Trump: "these are sick people" talking to Bukele in reference to the reporters.

re: Why is WAFB lying about egg prices?

WAFB/WBRZ are as bad as national outlets. It's all about clicks. We'd all be better off just ignoring them, not giving them clicks, not watching their channels, not patronizing their advertisers and going to people like Kiran for news.

re: Eastern Indigo

Worked in South Texas a lifetime ago it seems. Massive ones (not sure if they were eastern indigos or what - but they were blue/indigo) would fall into trenches. I'd be scared shitless if one of those things rolled up on me.
Are you open to old sci fi shows with great stories but maybe the shows haven't aged well cgi wise?

Babylon 5 - it's tough to get through season 1 with the cgi. Then you graduate to slightly less terrible CGI. But to me, its one of the greatest sci fiction stories told over a series. The show creator had a story to tell and told it.

Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis - skip whatever that last one was.

Farscape

If you are into Trek my favorite is DS9 but it is not everyone's cup of tea.

Firefly - 1 season but great.

If you haven't watched X Files it is worth a watch all the way through. Monster of the week episodes are great and I think the storyline itself is underrated and somewhat relatable to the current day views of many Americans on the federal bureaucracy.

I see you've watched Expanse and Dark - two of the best recent sci-fi shows IMO.

Wild video. Reminder to kill as many bobcats/yotes/coons/opposums as possible for the betterment of your turkey populations.
