Online Steak purchases

Anyone had good luck with quality/cost on any of the online Steak vendors? I have looked at Omaha, Butcher Block, etc. I notice some pitch free x steak for a year on every order kind of deals, free is nice but are they increasing cost of package to cover it? Mainly looking for ribeye or filet steaks and burgers.

Omaha is trash.
Find a good butcher wherever you live. Pretty much everywhere will have one.

Never would do that. Then again, I don't order clothes or shoes on-line either but at least with those purchases, you can send it back for a refund if you don't like it.

Butcher Block was just ok. 44 Farms very good but you pay for it

Find yourself a good butcher and stick with him….. ordering it online is very pricey and the quality is not always good

I've used 44 Farms, and have been pleased with their quality of meats.

It is easy, at least in TX, to find a rancher within an hour, to sell you what you need. There are four or more farms selling eggs within 15mi of me, not to mention the farm stands, to get local stuff easily. The meat is easy to come by, I bought from the same family for almost a decade. Their beef smells like ... beef.

I wouldn't be comfortable with someone else selecting our steaks, so it's our butcher or wander the vast selection at Costco. I just dont see the point in gambling if a butcher is reasonably close.
