New restaurant in Rum House spot - SoLou

The ideas coalesced into a concept of comfort food with a twist, then Sclafani and partners Kiva Guidroz and Michael Boudreaux built their new restaurant around it.
SoLou, short for South Louisiana, occupies the building that once housed the Rum House at 7246 Perkins Road.

"Old guys" are the ones who eat out the most, spend the most and tip the best in my experience. At least I do.

Looking at the menu, which looks quite good and also a bit safe, this isn't food that speaks to me that the "happening" crowd is eating.

I'm not getting interesting at all from their menu. Looks like another menu full of the same boring shite to me. I'm not getting a either a comfort food or a new and innovative vibe from the menu.
I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but so be it.

I don't care for the name and it's too close to SoBou. The menu, though, looks good overall.

I've been out of Baton Rouge for more than a couple years but what restaurant there has an alligator hotdog or table made smores? The article listed quite a few under 30 popular foods
