I agree expectations should be lowered on a newly opened restaurant. However, there were so many major issues (many others not mentioned in the previous post) I don't see them turning it around.

Nothing was even close to right. When my friends told the waitress they were going to just pay for their drinks and leave without eating the waitress said "I don't blame you".

The woman who I assume was the manager asked our table and the one next to us how everything was and both tables gave her a list of problems and she just smiled and said something like "its a mad house tonight".

Hopefully they get it together but I'll never be back.

Against my better judgment, agreed to go with a friend yesterday for lunch.

The space itself is beautiful and it was packed/on a wait even at 1pm on a Monday, but it wasn't too great. It wasn't horrible to the point where I wouldn't give it another try later, but it wasn't an overly positive experience.

We waited forever for someone to greet us. We were just about to move to the bar when someone finally came. The server was so sweet and was trying his best, but he was pretty flustered and didn't seem to have waited tables before.

Each of the food items were just "okay". The hot crab dip had plenty of crab, which is great, but it seemed like it wasn't seasoned well and it was missing that rich cheesy component you'd expect from a hot crab dip.

I pictured my entree (oyster BLT) to be this overfilled sandwich with big cornmeal oysters, and it was the opposite. The oysters were small and there were only ~4 on the entire sandwich. The homemade ketchup that came with the fries was not for me, but that could be a personal taste thing. It was roasted ketchup.

Drinks were okay. The second one I ordered was much better than the first. Was glad to see many of the cocktails are gin-based, though.

Didn't try my friend's poboy, but she got the crawfish mac and cheese as the side and it had the same issue as the crab dip. It just tasted like noodles and wasn't this rich, cheesy mac and cheese you'd expect.

They ran out of simple syrup and went next door to borrow some rather than make some, which is kinda funny and strange. When I was in Martin, a SoLou employee came in for bitters, and the interaction made it seem like they've been coming in often needing stuff and not being sure where/what it is they're looking for.

I hope they work out the kinks and it improves. It is such a nice space and I'm sure they dumped some money into it.
