The menu title says hotdog, but it's an alligator sausage. There are probably a dozen or more places you can get an alligator sausage in Baton Rouge. The smores may be something new. Sorry, I didn't make it that far down the menu b/c I personally never eat dessert in a restaurant. I'm sure the menu will hold great appeal for many. It just didn't float my boat necessarily. With that said, I'm sure I will eat there at some point and the meal with be just fine. I still stick by my original comment though - I get neither new and innovate or classic comfort from this menu.

I agree that I don't see much in the way of unique on the menu which surprised me since I read the article prior to looking at the menu.
That being said, I can find things to order on the menu. I enjoy trying various versions of shrimp and grits. I love shrimp corn dogs. Neither of those dishes are new to anyone around. It's not a standout menu, but it looks good overall, as I said.

I’d Uber to Rum House/ Olive or Twist on Friday or Saturday nights just to avoid the parking situation

Anyway, menu isn't ground breaking, but it looks like they did a great job with the outdoor space. I'll probably check it out in the next couple of weeks.

I went.. nice atmosphere.. food was OK.. but no desire to go back. For what it is , seems a bit on the pricey side. A couple of examples, bacon cheeseburger = $17 and chicken tenders = $16

I went last weekend with my wife and another couple. It was a pretty disappointing night out.
Had a reservation but still had to wait over 45 minutes. There is no real waiting area and they also seat customers at the bar so you are basically hovering over people eating, packed in a corner, or blocking the entrance while waiting.
When we were finally seated they sat us at a table near the bar which sucked because then we had people waiting for their tables standing right next to ours and when waiters were trying to get by they literally were up against our table. Felt like Boogies.
It was crowded and busy but the service was terrible. We constantly had to get the waitress' attention for menus, drinks, etc.. We ended up ordering drinks way before we were done with the previous ones if we saw the waitress.
I saw another couple I know in there and they left before they ordered food- said they had been there an hour and hadn't gotten the menus yet.
The food was pretty generic and expensive for the type of food. Most drinks or glasses of wine were about $5 more than any other restaurant in town.

We went last Friday night and had the same shitty experience. Waited hour and half for our food and eventually left. Ordered Fleur de Lis and picked up on the way home

Not making excuses at all for this place as I'm never going to go there...
But I am not a fan of going to places until they have been open 2-3 months. There are always major kinks the first few months and overly crowded.

I'll go in a couple months, likely on a Tuesday night or something. I do want to try it, and last weekend was opening weekend, so I'll give them some time and then try.
I'm sympathetic because I worked opening night/weekend at L'Auberge and legit almost jumped off the top of the building.
