There are supposedly other benefits to fasting, but I'm with you.
Anecdotally, My heartburn greatly improved for the first time maybe in my life.
It all probably indicates I was Massively overeating.

I think that's pretty much the science

I just use it as a means of consuming less calories overall. Not really concerned with whether I'm "breaking the fast" when I have a coffee or whatever.
Same- I drink coffee with probably 100 calories of half/half in it, but I don't count that as breaking the fast. I guess I could be stricter, but it's working to the tune of 1-2 lbs/week and I'm ok with that pace.

Look hard at a keto diet OP. I'd say Low Carb, but the problem with that is that being on the road its so absurdly easy to eat carbs and incredibly difficult to eat low carbs unless you go all in. There's not much middle ground I guess to do low carb, once you get fast food or a sandwich or whatever you are no longer low carb.
Keto takes some time to get used to be its really an easy and doable diet if you like meat, cheese, and vegetables.
ETA: I'll tell you what I do if I'm doing keto, is that I'll keep half a head of lettuce at my office in the fridge. If you don't get a side item, keto is very easy to do with lettuce for a bun at almost any fast food place. I'll often order just a larger burger with no bun and use lettuce as a bun. That sort of thing. I mean 9 out of 10 times I bring my lunch, but its not always doable and eating out is tough.

skip breakfast. eat some type of salad with a protein and light dressing or oil and vinegar every single day. no snacks besides beef jerkey. sunflower seeds and drink tons of bottled water to fight cravings. if that doesnt work try adderall.

Two things I try to do are eat a lower calorie breakfast and not drink anything with sugar except a little milk in my coffee. I don’t think it’s a good idea to start off the day consuming 400-500 calories unless you are engaging in some serious exercise. I know lots of people that have done intermittent fasting but almost no one that has maintained it over a long period of time.

WUT? Almost all science says otherwise unless you are trying to fast or something of that nature.
I also think everyone's metabolism is different. If I don't eat in the morning my energy levels plummet about 10am. Now I know plenty of people that don't eat all morning and that's fine. I'm not sure what eating a small breakfast would have to do with the OP's issue about eating on the road though?
I'd probably argue that if he hate a large healthy breakfast and then 2-3 snacks through the day that may be better. Like hummus and vegetables or peanut butter and an apple.

Because your body is used to an insulin spike

Based on what?

So you don't intermittent fast
No, it was a typo, I meant to say 50 cals or less before LUNCH, I can keep it under 50 with a coffee and a green juice. The green juice is celery-heavy, so it has a distinctly savory flavor that satisfies my AM appetite.

If you are having coffee with cream and sugar and a juice you aren't fasting. The cream and sugar especially are going to activate your insulin response.

Based on a guy that is on the road moving and not close to a kitchen to cook or make his shite...duh.
We both know there's no evidence breakfast is incrementally better to eat, but if you are on the go and away from a kitchen for 8-10 hours its going to be difficult to eat healthy when you skip breakfast. If you eat when you are at home, that's a hell of a lot easier then eating healthy on the road.
You disagree?

It's not really that hard to eat healthy on the road at all. Cheap, not really, but hard no.
That's not what you said in your post though. You posted a bunch of stuff that just isn't true.

And you tried to make an argument that you know my metabolism and body more than myself...
What did I say in my post that's not true? That evidence points to eating a healthy breakfast at home is better for you than not eating shite all morning and then trying to plan to eat healthy away from home?
I was referring to the OP which you were not, you were simply trying to throw out some BS and ask for links simply to be a contrarian.
So please, show me some links that show its not only easier but also healthier to skip breakfast at home and pack a bunch of food to eat in your car.

You said almost all science points to eating 400-500 calories being healthier unless you are trying to fast or something like that.
Im not even sure what that means, but you can't provide any scientific evidence to support your position because it's not true.
You also said it's healthier to eat a bigger breakfast and then 2 to 3 snacks throughout the day. Also not true. Then you moved the goalposts about earthing healthy verse unhealthy.

If you are like 98% of other people your metabolism is very very similar to everyone else's. Plenty of studies to support that.

You gave the OP bad advice, that's not my fault

Salads, cold soups, raps. Fruits and vegetables. You still need to figure out a way to get out of the car and move around to burn more than you consumed.
When on the road, what are some of the best salad places that you can grab a quick, healthy salad from? Lately for me, it has been Subway salads, but I don't think they are all that healthy.

I should preface this by saying I haven’t had any of these in years, but family of mine really likes FF salads. McDonald’s southwest salad, any salad from Wendy’s, and the salads at CFA all are pretty good.
If you use their app or mobile website to view the menu, they all give nutritional info for the salad + whatever dressing you choose.
That said, you don’t have to eat a salad to eat a low cal meal. Chicken wraps, grilled nuggets or tenders, Wendy’s chili and baked potato, etc. are lower on the calories than most FF items. Even some burgers and sandwiches are not bad if you skip the fries and you know which condiments to add/leave off.

OP get an Unwich lettuce wrap from Jimmi Johns. Or keto burger at Five Guys or Sonic.

I lost 20lbs since Dec doing this:
No breakfast just coffee and water. For me coffee keeps the hunger cravings away until around 10-11am. From then you just graze to keep the hunger away until dinner.
I start eating 100-200 calorie meals usually 1 to 2 hours between meals.
Lettuce pre-packaged fresh pico de gallo and pre-packaged seasoned Tuna (or deli lunch meats) makes a nice easy 120-150 calorie meal. Sams sells pre-cooked grilled chicken breasts that are ~110 calories each that you can throw on a salad or in a wrap to make a quick easy meal. Lots of hidden calories in salads and sandwiches with dressing, croutons, and cheese so minimize or find low calorie options. Those Extreme Wellness tortillas are just 50 calories v 180 for a traditional tortilla or 140 for a couple of slices of bread and have a ton of fiber and make good wraps. Small handfull of mixed nuts and pork rinds then wait 10 minutes and often it will satiate your hunger for an hour. Small handfull v. half a bag or a jar of nuts. Portion control is important.
After a couple of weeks of this you get used to not eating big meals. You will start eating less calories during your grazing period and when you do eat your big dinner it won't take nearly as much to make you feel satisfied as it used too. but you eat until you are satisfied not until you are stuffed or full. Portion control is key. That's where an app like My Fitness Pal helps with counting and tracking calories. I can get to dinner having only consumed 500-600 calories. That leaves me a nice big calorie budget for a decent dinner.
