Just skip the chips and fries or grab a salad.

I’m in sales. In my car everyday at lunchtime 90% of the time. I’m ok with bringing my lunch in a small ice chest. Suggestions other than a sandwich and chips? Don’t tell me nuts and grains and shite like that.
Just don't eat and exercise. You don't sound like much of a salesman if you can't solve a basic fricking problem. I wouldn't hire you.

Yep. If you’re the type who can eat the same thing over and over, on Sunday go get one of those large cheap packs of chicken breasts or pork chops and grill them all.

One of those and an apple or something for lunch. Save calories for a decent dinner like someone else mentioned.

Being on the road every day over lunch would be a killer for me. Driving over lunch has always equaled fast food for me.

Aren’t most companies doing Work from home? Do Zoom meetings and you can eat healthier since you will be at home.

One if the dumbest things ever posted. Not everyone has that option.

Intermittent fasting is my eating plan, so I really look forward to lunch. Since you’ve got a cooler, go with egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad plus whatever crunchy raw veg you like: carrot sticks, cucumber spears, raw sugar snap peas, plus a few whole grain crackers. Small amount of fresh fruit as dessert: half an apple, handful of blueberries or strawberries.

Bagged salad kits, tossed before you leave home and portioned out with some added protein: sliced off the bone rotisserie chicken, hardboiled eggs, string cheese.

Agree that fewer carbs and more protein will get you moving in the right direction. Get up extra early and get in a vigorous walk, run, swim, or yoga session before getting in the car each day. Eat 50 calories or less before lunch: I have a generous cup of coffee with cream and a bit of sugar, then a green juice around 10 am, then lunch at 12:30 on weekdays.

Big breakfasts aren’t for everyone.

True. Of course, not everyone everyone does, but the majority of people, especially in sales, do.

Depends on what type of sales. Point is if that option was available to him he wouldn't be asking the question. Which makes your comment all the more obviously stupid.

But who of us here hasn't said something stupid over the years?

I'd also disagree that the majority of people have that option. There isn't a single blue collar job in the world that can be worked remotely. And white collar jobs in many other essential businesses like construction, manufacturing, financial services don't have that option. If I had to guess less than 20 percent of the work force has the option to work remotely at this point.

Interesting take, but I think you’re wrong.

Please don’t say that my comment is stupid. I’m merely trying to have a rational conversation here, ok.

My sales job requires me to do site visits daily. It really wasn’t feasible to be WFH full time although I don’t need an office outside my house, despite my company wanting us to be here

Just skip lunch.

Eat a big dinner. You’ll lose weight.

I started intermittent fasting more or less because I got lazy and stopped packing a lunch and never ate breakfast to begin with.

Idk About the science of it beyond the fact that I’m eating way less.

What is your current weight and how much do you want to lose? Do you exercise daily as well? What are you used to eating at lunch? Like another poster said its all calories in/ calories out. You could potentially eat fast food burger and a water if dont over do it at dinner and exercise for 20-30 minutes a day.

There are supposedly other benefits to fasting, but I'm with you. I just use it as a means of consuming less calories overall. Not really concerned with whether I'm "breaking the fast" when I have a coffee or whatever.
