The one that has been posted 100x with Steen's and bacon on top.
Everybody in the office is talking about wanting to try it.

Just wondering if I should make a special trip to go get one or pass this one up.

Possibly the best cake I've had.

I brought one up to the office yesterday. It had mixed reviews. I thought it was different, but I enjoyed it. I saw some pics on the internet and just had to try it.

I recommended the idea to the guys at City Pork and was told that they're working on something similar. I tried their current king cake concoction and while it was OK, I think their take on a boudin-stuffed one could be stellar.

Had it a couple weeks ago. I thought it was great, but I'm more of a savory fan than sweet.

I can't imagine spicy rice in the middle of a sweet pastry is any good.

Ever had a spicy sausage kolache? You're wrong.

Many times. Not one had any icing on it, or rice.

Yep.

Not saying much since I don't like sweets, but I thought it was pretty damn good.

Don't think the boudin king cake has icing on it from the pictures I've seen. I could be wrong though.

The bakery that does them here in Lafayette uses the dough that they make their hamburger buns with. They don't use any icing. The only sweetness is from the Steen's syrup.

I was picking up a regular king cake @ Heavenly Donuts Tuesday & a lady was in there picking up a boudin king cake. Didn't know they had them

It's good, but not worth the hype it's getting. We have had boudin kolaches this side of the basin for a long time. But if it is your first time trying it, it is a must have.

I haven't had one, but I'm pretty sure I read it was cracklin' crumbs, not bacon on top.

My son and I made this one for his dad/son "cake bake" auction....

Its bread, not cake batter....we used my fathers homeade syrup, and fried crispy bacon, instead of cracklins.
