FWIW, I love Dempsey’s. One of my favorite chick n sausage gumbos in town and I lean toward thicker gumbos at home. Used to do cup and a half w French dip on the regular till I got too old to work it off. When I first moved to BR for grad school, we had a crew of guys that hit the chicken fried special on Wednesdays. Super glad this was featured. Kudos and hope they are busting at the seams w DDD chasers!
I’m good buddy. Just too dang busy!
Found this thread looking for my old notes on a brisket I’m smoking tonight…. Laughed at the 4 year bump, so here is another!
Heard of peeps using them. Thanks much. Good friend of mine asked …. I’ve never shipped.
F&D Board….. looking for recommendations for shipping a couple sacks to South Carolina for a crawfish boil next week (maybe 5-7 days from now)

Please comment… Thanks Much!
I use Nash’s Recipe. Google House of Nash Eats White Alabama BBQ Sauce. It’s great.

Only 2 I have on hand all times is Poppa Earles and Tony’s.

Like Gris, I use Cavendars a fair amount but it’s not cajun.

Thanks in advance.

My oldest son got us a weekend getaway at an IHG Vacation Club on Lake Conroe.... will have 1 night for a good meal in early September. Anyone have a recommendation?

We will be on the SE side of the lake, if that matters.

Thanks much.

Was hoping to take my 16 year old before school starts out of St Bernard. Is water too hot? Seems like the water temp everywhere is nuts

In regards to pics from 2015 OP, someone said a couple posts up that you can “reply” to the original post and see pics. I tried it and it worked. Thanks!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone…. Remember why Monday is a holiday.
Bumped by request…. Not sure original images still load tho. Enough additions to help tho.

I wore Ariat Ramblers -3 pairs over about 10/12 years. Bought the “Rambler Recon” this last go around and love them… the soles are flat on them tho, not sure that’s what you are looking for. Super comfortable.

Dip fries n Mayo on the reg here. Chick filea waffle fries (and strips/nuggets) are excellent that way. Pile of Mayo and a pile of ketchup. Got options! Lol

Hola Nola Ground Beef Quesadillas off flat top at the hacienda
Funny thread. I fly a lot - got status w 2 airlines. Good food is an anomaly, even n the clubs. Supposed to tide you over till ur destination. That said, in some rare occurances - there are some good spots. (Saw MDog mentioned ATL - Chicken & Beer have a good beer list and solid food at D5)

To the OP and aforementioned comments - I’ve never mentioned a meal, or a spot, in any airport until now.

Beer & Bourbon lists? Discussed alot. Food? Never.

OP, people traveling thru MSY would lose a ton of credibility w their discussions about “dam good gumbo” in an airport. It is what it is.

Relax.
