I've been a fan of sardines since I was a kid eating them with my dad. I still eat them from time to time, but might check out a sardine fast.

It made my pee green and stained the toilet. That's the only thing I noticed about it.

The guy who has spent years on an LSU message board being an a-hole to everyone else about a fricking competing golf tour is calling out other people about a rough look? Get the frick out of here and grow the frick up.

One technique I use now to help prevent injury is to use the seat heaters to/from lower body workouts, it seems to do a good job of loosening it up.

Already using them for my lower back.

How is Legend Pot?

Don't waste your money. I did not like it at all. Clumsy all around trying to manage a million plates and bowls all around a table that's half meant for cooking rather than eating with subpar unseasoned meat that you have to cook yourself. All for $34 a person, which after tax is now $38 a person before a single drink or gratuity is considered. I can take my family of 5 somewhere far more enjoyable and far less expensive.

Hamstring Injury

Posted by BMoney on 4/14/26 at 11:21 am
Anyone here have experience with a grade 2 hamstring injury? Felt it pop when going up for a hit while playing beach volleyball. Injury was April 6th, so I'm a week out now. Last week was miserable. By Friday, I was finally able to somewhat walk. Slowly getting to the point where I can do most normal every day tasks (couldn't dream of putting shoes on last week). Bruising has really showed up over the last 48 hours. It's pretty gnarly looking.

Trying to determine my next steps to get back to being active and reduce my chances for reinjury. 49 years old, 5'11" and 170 pounds. I'm an active person, but not really a gym person. I like to be active outside, whether it's running or biking or volleyball or pickleball or golf. Mostly a runner, since I enjoy it and is what I like to do, and that's what I really want to get back to, along with beach volleyball, since my SO and I really enjoy doing that together.

Anyone with any experiences in recovery? Would love to hear about it. I'm all ears.

To play it smart:

3W instead of driver off tee
Gap wedge layup
6 iron to green or 8 iron layup
Putt or chip

I don't think this is a great approach. A 6 iron shot into a green on a par 5 is not going to end well for most amateurs. I play the hole better when I get the drive down as far as possible in order to have a shortest club possible in my hand that will clear the bayou/ditch. Once you clear the bayou, you're left with a wedge shot to the green, which to me, will lead to more pars and set yourself up for birdie putts.
I've used Pat's twice for garage door spring replacement. They took good care of me both times.
Great layout, challenging design. Haven't played it recently to know how the greens are right now, but it's a great course. Just wish it was easier to access or I didn't have to deal with the bridge.
That's absurd. I pay $13/bale at my hardware store, which after tax would come out to about $430 for 30 bales. It would take me some time to spread by myself, but not $1,200 of my time.
I own and wear hat 3 on the bottom row. Bought it there 3 years ago. I like it. :dunno:

Pretty suspect as those Sims at Pelican are pretty underutilized it seems.. I legit never see anyone using them..

I was gonna say the same thing. I've never seen one in use. But then, why would I play on a sim if I could play the course? The sim seems great for rainy days or winter.

Why didnt they work? Genuinely curious

Very difficult to accept shots. They do it in Alaska because of the moose and bears tearing up real greens. Even with very little play, they said they have to replace the turf pretty frequently.
I've run from my house to go run on the levee before, and it's just a touch over 3 miles. I'm a sub-8 minute pace runner, so let's call it 25 minutes from door to water.

I've often wondered how that would play. Could you find turf that reacted like a green with a 7i in your hand

I played a course in Alaska with turf greens. It was interesting. Turf greens won't work. But hey, I can say that I played golf in Alaska.

Yes, a 13.5° Ai Smoke with a Ventus Velocore+ Blue 6X shaft tipped an inch. It's not going left, and that's the whole point. I'm also a very low spin player, so this helps me tremendously.

I only hit it from the tee and don't carry a 3 wood. My only fairway wood is a 20° Ai Smoke Triple Diamond 7 wood.

let me know where those people are. ill hire 3 now and my other super buddies will hire 3 each right now too. you are clueless man. no one wants to work. i know for a fact SM has one of the smaller crews of golf courses around BR.

so, to have everything done by 9am minimum:
2 guys on greens
2 guys on tees
2 guys on fairways
2 guys in bunkers
1 guy coolers and trash
1 guy changing holes

you just need to stop. you're the reason supers hate certain know it all golfers

This should be good. Add 9 more holes to the mix and let him know how many people he needs to get it all done, then you can compare notes.

I was the same for a very long time. I'd go through periods of "cut back", then the daily drinking would creep back in. I finally decided to give it up completely because like you said, I starting seeing it for what it is. I asked myself "is this really doing anything positive for me?" The answer was always no. I'm 444 days since my last drink. The first couple of weeks were pretty difficult, but then it got easier. Now I don't even think about it. The difference in my quality of life is significant. It was like a rebirth.

If anyone is seriously considering giving up alcohol, I wholeheartedly endorse it.

On top of everything else you said, the only thing I would add is prioritize sleep. Getting a good night sleep is the second best life changing decision I've made since giving up alcohol. And giving up alcohol significantly improved my sleep quality.

I wish I could upvote this more than once.

The answer to "is this really doing anything positive for me?" was always no, but I didn't want to listen. I negotiated and bargained with myself constantly. I can cut back. I don't have to drink. Just on the weekends. I was scared to quit. What was I going to do? What would friends think? Would it be weird?

The answer is no. Nobody cares that you don't drink. If anything, I've gotten a lot of compliments about how strong I must be to be able to stop. Sure, it takes willpower. But after a couple months, it gets so much easier.

The easiest way would be to cut out alcohol completely, but alas, no.

Never thought I could do it either. But here I am. 159 days today. In February 2025, I was 229 pounds (5'11" for those asking). This morning, the scale read 174.

There are no secrets, just habits. You can't out exercise a bad diet. Eat real foods and cut back on the beers. I'm not going to tell you to drink whiskey instead of beer, because that was not sustainable for an alcoholic like me. In fact, it was worse for my overall health.

Eat less, move more works. Be active. Park in the back of the parking lot. Take the stairs. Go for more walks. Watch your portions. Eat lean meats, seafood, fruits and veggies. If you have to get your food out of a box (i.e. Red Baron pizza), it's not going to help your weight loss.

Cutting out the alcohol didn't immediately cause the pounds to drop off. But it certainly has helped me create a lifestyle that supports losing weight and being healthy. I have much more energy now than I used to, and that allows me to be more active, which in turn helps me lose the weight. I actually haven't been able to exercise like I want to over the last 4-5 months due to some nagging injuries. Yet, here I am at 49 years old approaching my 35 year old self's marathon runnner weight.

I get it, you may not be mentally ready to kick the beer habit. It held me back for years. I wanted to enjoy my double IPAs. They're delicious. But only after I gave it all up was I able to see it for what it is: poison that's slowly killing me. I have zero regrets giving up alcohol, and almost 6 months into this journey, I love my life now.

When you're ready to do it, reach out and talk to people. There are more of us than you realize.
