I live in Scott too and agree. NuNu's is up there and doesn't get as much hype as the others. Early's was probably my favorite but NuNu's bought them out. I miss those plate lunches from Early's.

All of the popular places are good and some appeal to others more. Billys was the first to the game with the pepperjack balls and that is a huge reason why they are so popular. Not to mention that they are very consistent.

Not to derail this thread but Billy’s is consistent on flavor, but their product has had gristle in it for the last couple of years. It never had that before. I have gotten to where I don’t like Billy’s because every other piece has some gristle in it.

Cool, now add in the insane wait which is what my comment was all about. I can get in and out the door at best stop or wait an hour at Billy’s. I go to best stop every time

BestStop was always my go-to until a couple months ago when I had to throw away $50.00 worth of meat (chicken sausage and andouille) because it was rancid the day after I bought it. It stunk up my entire fridge and was vacuum sealed.

Since then I have been going to Billy’s and everything I have tried so far has been way better than BS.

I stopped at K’s today for the first time and liked the Boudin better than BS but thought it was right behind Billy’s. I haven’t tried the stuffed chickens I bought yet to compare.

Why nobody ever mentions Legnon's Boucherie in New Iberia just amazes me.
Thanks for the tip. I've never heard of this place.

All I can say is Exit 97 is one amazing food exit. May need a bigger cooler.

My go to"s are Billy's and Kartchners smoked boudin.

Surprised NuNus doesn’t get more love here. Their balance of seasonings and rice to meat ratio is perfect IMO.

May if you went back to the Best Stop and let them know that you purchased some bad meats they would most likely refund you your money.

Thank y’all for all of the replies. Just out of curiosity, is “LeJeune” a pretty common name down that way?

It’s actually very easy. All of the boudin stops in Scott are within a few miles of each other. if you start at Nunu’s, leave the parking lot and go right. Take the next right. You’ll end up at Dons. Leave dons back the the round about and hit Billy’s. Leave Billy’s head north and hit Karthcners and Best Stop. Drive time is less then 5 minutes.

And if you try every type you've just consumed 10 pounds of it. Wouldn't recommend that.

Billy’s boudin balls are the best, and I have yet to try any that are better. There may be better links out there, but Billy’s is the standard against which all are judged, imo.

Maybe reread the OP. He's going through Scott on his way to Jeanerette. Guess what city he has to pass through from Scott to Jeanerette.... .....New Iberia.

If your party is south of Lafayette, don't sleep on the boudin from Hebert's in Maurice.

Not sure why folks think Billy’s is good boudin. It is just loaded with MSG and not really that good, seems to contain no liver, and lacks spices.

Riverside in Plaquemine is hands down best boudain in Louisiana.
