I’m preparing for another ‘wasted’ year..

With Biden’s crew wanting a shutdown, and the constant fear-mongering articles about how bad things are about to get, I’m prepared for another year of minimal fans at sporting events, constant mask wearing, and random things I like to do being closed.
My wife and I have rescheduled our wedding celebration (we paid for a venue, catering, etc, only to have to ppd at the last minute because of spikes down here) twice since last June. We still got married, but are going to host a vow renewal or something since it’s already paid for. Our honeymoon has been postponed once, probably will have to do so again. That means contacting airlines and dealing with vouchers (again) and contacting and dealing with hotels (again).
I know my life could be much, much worse. I know these are my first-world privileged person problems. But frick...so done with this bullshite. Our reactionary leaders and society can go suck it.

They are about to steal two years of our lives
And an extremely large number of people will not care at all because they sit at home eating Banquet meals watching TV all day on the government dime anyways. Nothing at all has changed for them.
If there was no welfare state this doesnt last the two weeks promised to flatten the curve.

Very sad reality. Life is the most precious thing we can have, and the enjoyable parts for many people are being eliminated. This is glorified house arrest.

A lot. All we have done is slow down the spread, not stop the spread.

Pics of the bride so we can get a frame of reference as to the scale-ability of the issue.
TIA

Dont worry though
The people imposing their will don't care about any of that stuff being closed. Oh and their salaries are backed by the government so they still get paid. Or they are the billionaires on their yachts not giving a frick but donating to Joe to shut it down.
So its no big deal at all!

To me this is no different than people living in fear of planes, driving, etc. Scary shite happens to people every day. No use hiding from life.

Just let it loose it's survival of the immunist. It'd be pretty ironic if you or your wife dies

They don’t have enough men to enforce a nationwide lockdown nor the jail cells to threaten us with
Do not comply. There will be short term pain but it has to be done.

The party of the environment sure hates the environment these days
Seems like it was all another lie to dictate lives and funnel money

you’d be so edgy and cool if it weren’t for the reality that for all your restrictions of freedom, and for all the blubbering fools we call leaders, these efforts that stand to permanently ruin our livelihoods are barely helping accomplish anything with this virus.

The media has people so terrified that a lot of them are begging for more shutdowns. It's ridiculous.

Right on. Making less money, nothing to look forward to. Really feel for kids, especially around 15-20. You just can’t get that stuff back, ever. Most kids losing a year of education, just awful

If it saves just one 80 year old with other underlying conditions then it’s worth it

Remember the “this all goes away after the election” idiots?

Yep, I think you are exactly right.

I’m in the same boat. Had to move my wedding from September to May. Not doing that shite again. I don’t care if it’s just my fiancé and me, I’m not postponing again. frick COVID and pussy liberal politicians.

Can you seriously not fathom why people would think that? The bottomline is it was an opportunity for a power grab and finger pointing policies play well to sheep. Our policymakers are in a cover your arse prisoners dilemma as Louis Vincent Gave would call it. There's no political upside to not follow the crowd.
