Amazing, isn’t it?

Streets have been flooded because people don’t want the government to control them, but when it comes to a virus we apparently are too stupid and need the govt to dictate our terms of freedom.

Rather than focus on the negative, you could focus on all those side projects you and/or your wife had lined up. Stacking money, starting an e-commerce building (if you haven't) or other stuff.

Plus, the shutdown isn't going to be a "stay inside or get shot". Need to flatten this spike and curve. Seems youd want that rather than more people getting sick and/or dying

I guess if you are so utterly simple minded as to assume this is a single variable problem, sure.

The policies you are touting will destroy, permanently, the livelihoods of millions of people and also the backbone of the American economy.

COVID 19 panic and fear was never going to go away after the election...

COVID 19 is the dream scenario of a totalitarian statist. It gives the totalitarian a unilateral excuse to do whatever they want in the name of fighting COVID. Why would totalitarian statists want it to go away?

It's going to "mutate" into COVID 21 and the media will keep the fear and panic going. But if Biden is president it will be nothing but optimistic stories and positive stories about how hard the administration is working to keep us safe from the ultra dangerous COVID 21 and how we owe them a massive debt of gratitude instead of the 24/7 doom, gloom, panic and hysteria we got the past 8 months...

Good grief, get a hold of yourself. If a server at a restaurant loses their job because the place shuts down, you're telling me their livelihood is permanently destroyed? As in they will never find another job and restaurants will never re-open? Same could be said of hundreds of other jobs.

Americans and the US economy are resilient and resourceful. For all of capitalism's faults, this is where it shines. It's the same dynamic that will give us multiple vaccines in the next 6-12 months, the know-how from which will be easily adaptable to COVID variants and future pandemics.

Just hang tight and wait a bit longer. The alternative is blowing past 500k dead in short order.

Well cuz most people are one pay check from being on the street, idiot. I would take a bet that most people would feel that would destroy their lives/livelihood. But hey what do I know.

Generalizations and anecdotes are not very helpful in these sorts of discussions. I will refrain from calling you a dumbass.

And an extremely large number of people will not care at all because they sit at home eating Banquet meals watching TV all day on the government dime anyways. Nothing at all has changed for them. If there was no welfare state this doesnt last the two weeks promised to flatten the curve.

Funny this is pretty much exactly what I picture when I think of the more loserish white trash republicans doing with the tv tuned in to Fox News

I’ve had this in the back of my mind, but doom and gloom doesn’t do anything to help them maintain control. Even in mother Russia, they would fill stadiums for sporting events and have various forms of entertainment.

I don’t see how locking down the country to this extent helps their cause.

“I hope the Federal Government lets me go to work next year.”

“I hope the Federal Government lets me send my kids to school next year.”

Two things I never thought I’d have to say in America, but here we are. #freedom

We have roughly 155 million people in the workforce right now. If you don't think it's possible MILLIONS (2 million plus) of people's livelihoods wont be destroyed from another shut down, then you probably voted for Biden and you can't be helped.

If there's a positive to all of this, it's that the West has been forced to build a system to efficiently combat pandemics. I work in the field it's pretty incredible what's started happening.

You must be a teacher or some kind of government worker.
That restaurant server or bartender or musician is already in horrible shape from previous shutdowns and restrictions. They need to be able to earn a living.
Know who else is out of work, the fcking owner of the restaurants and bars, managers, suppliers, kitchen staff etc. Thousands have closed for good around the country.

Go ahead and live in your nice little comfortable bubble making comments about peoples very real problems.

There is no way to reason with the dumbassery you have spouted on here. It's not the federal government's job to shut down shite. Period.
