quote:

Jessica Krug is an author, activist, and professor of African and Latin American studies, who has spoken and written in great personal detail about her black identity. In her bio she has described herself as an “unrepentant and unreformed child of the hood.” The only problem is that the hood was, apparently, a suburb in Missouri. And when she called herself African and black all those years, what she really meant to say is that she’s white and Jewish. Two questions are raised here: 1)  If all of the privilege in America belongs to white people, then why would a white person reject that identity and assume a less privileged one? 2) Perhaps more to the point, why exactly can’t Krug identify as black? Why isn’t her self-identity legitimate? If she says she feels like a black woman, and identifies most strongly with that community, who is to say she’s wrong? Well, I can say she’s wrong. Anyone who rejects the notion of gender fluidity can say she’s wrong, as we believe that a person’s fundamental identity is not something that can be changed on a whim. It is not subjective. Our perception of ourselves may be subjective, but our identity itself — our biology and the demographics to which we belong — are simply facts, no matter how we feel about them. But that’s not the position the Left takes. They say that a woman might be born a woman, with a female body, female DNA, female bone structure, and yet if she finds within herself some sort of vague, undefinable feeling of maleness, then she is a man. So what if she finds a vague, undefinable feeling of blackness? Why is she not then black? 2) Perhaps more to the point, why exactly can’t Krug identify as black? Why isn’t her self-identity legitimate? If she says she feels like a black woman, and identifies most strongly with that community, who is to say she’s wrong? Well, I can say she’s wrong. Anyone who rejects the notion of gender fluidity can say she’s wrong, as we believe that a person’s fundamental identity is not something that can be changed on a whim. It is not subjective. So what if she finds a vague, undefinable feeling of blackness? Why is she not then black? There simply is no valid argument for denying a white person’s right to be black but not a woman’s right to be a man or a man’s right to be a woman. In fact, terms like “fluid” and “socially constructed” apply much more to race than to gender.

Since whiteness and blackness are apparently based on oppression rather than color/race, it makes sense that a person should be able to identify what they are.

When you reject God’s objective reality, you open yourself to accepting anything.

For those who reject God’s unchanging truth, everything is subjective.

Because that would destroy decades worth of indoctrination from our education system, msm and Democrat party.

The indoctrination is... black people are always the victim because they don't know any better. White people are always racists and evil because that's just how they are born.

They've worked too hard for too many years, to create a racial division that seeps through our society. If ya start letting white people say they're black and black people say they're white... then lib efforts have been wasted.

Makes a good point. As a white male, I am genetically and biologically closer to being a black male than a white female; however, I can never be either.

Because victimhood is currency to SJWs.

So there's about a billion Hindus going to hell by your logic here for example. Their unchanging truth is different from yours, thus obviously wrong. Since, you know, your god has a monopoly on truth I guess.

As a Christian, I must follow the words of Christ. Jesus himself said he was the only way to eternal life.
So my beliefs about Hindus or yours for that matter is irrelevant.
Narrow is the way that leads to life, and few find it.

Because changing the race you identify as does not advance societal upheaval.

The point is billions of people are wrong, why are Christians right? They don't even agree on everything.

Revelator said it well: Christ is the only way to the Father (salvation).

Think about this logically. The law of non contradiction does not allow two contradicting truth claims to be true at the same time and in the same sense. One can be true, both can be false, but both can’t be true at the same time and in the same way.

Are you claiming to support irrationality by your protest about the monopoly God has on spiritual truth?

It seems to me that a change in race is a much shorter leap than gender, at least in DNA terms.
