Is there a philosophically innocuous reason for this dichotomy?

If so tell me what it would be?

The left wants more opportunity for voter fraud couched in the auspices of social justice and safety. The right simply wants to limit opportunities for voter fraud.

One party has a lot of voters who typically prefer to do things for themselves, another party has a lot of voters who like to have the government do things for them. Why would it be any different for voting?

Democrats do not now or will they every want fair elections.

Illegals voting, felons voting, no voter ID, motor voter....

The bottom line: If Democrats are for it, a fair electoral process demands we should be against it.

I emailed my rep and pretty much begged him to vote against any aid package that includes mail in voting -- issue is will they even know if it's in there or not??

The same party that wants mail in voting is against voter id. Think about that for a minute.

This is the problem.

Democrats are characterizing election reform as just "mail in voting".

We already have mail in voting.

We really don't know the exact language they plan to pass.

But we can assume that it is pretty close to the language in California law that allows not only mail in voting, but same day registration, ballot harvesting and two weeks after election day dead line.

One party supports voter ID and one party opposes.
Can anyone see a trend?

one side has a larger population of people who don't care about voting, individually

One party is compassionate and wants to save the USPS and the other party is deranged and wants it to collapse?

That’s all I got ...

The question is...why does it help Dems over republicans because that’s the only reason they take the stance....

When you build a base that is govt dependent, you have to do everything for them, including vote

One party relies on the votes of a massive number of dumbasses, who are too ignorant to begin to understand what's in their own best interests. It is much easier to just collect their paperwork and mail in their votes than it is to wake them up, figure out which precinct they vote in, and haul their useless asses to the polls.
Early voting accomplishes the same objectives for that party, but mail-in voting allows them to frick the system right on up until election day.

muh fake votes.

I see that this boogeyman is still alive and well with the republican party. Voter fraud is the Bigfoot of political stances at this point.

The Democratic Party doesn’t have one ounce of compassion. Killing babies, slavery, intentionally keeping people of color in poverty are just a few examples.
