It’s always been a bullshite tournament when it comes to Auburn. We get shitty draws when we do get in (except for the home game against Houston as an 8 seed). Refs also have their favorites. Tonight it was Miami(oh), as they called a bunch of touch fouls on the 7 footer to take him out of the game.
As for SEC, I like Arkansas and UT but will pull for all of them but Bama and UGa and the two Texas schools.

Well as bad as we were against stiff competition towards the end of the season we would have beaten SMU by 30. No idea how they got in and Miami Oh sux as well. The Tourny is top heavy this year. Texas sucks as well. OU and AU are better than all those teams.

Uh I think you’re underestimating the respect the school had for Bruce. He didn’t just put AU basketball on the map, he changed the SEC landscape. His only fault was getting caught up in politics. He energized the fan base. He was unique. He earned picking the next coach. His rationale of keeping the staff continuity and roster was fine but I think if Steven is going to own the team he’s going to need some shakeup in the staff. I don’t think those other assistants appreciated the hiring (but could be wrong). The roster definitely was not mature enough to handle it. Putting this season all on Steven is a bit weird. Not to mention, we’re talking about a game or two and we’re easily in. It went south when he decided not to play Key Hall after the technical and the subsequent suspension. I don’t know why he did that but it was the turning point.

People wanting Pearl fired after year 1 only want it because Bruce got his son hired (this is the fairness crowd, some weirdos) and they hate this. So they have been rooting for him to fail all season. Number 2 - they have never played any sports at a level about rec. Number 3 - they didn’t like Bruce either because he was openly pro Israel. They fit into one of those 3 categories.

I disagree completely without analyzing the losses. 6 losses were by less than 6pts. Basically, final possession. 3 losses were to 1 or 2 seeds. Beat a 1 seed on the road by double digits. Resume sucks if just looking at record, but just a little bit of analysis indicates we have a better resume than other bubble teams. It doesn’t matter what you think, it matters what the data shows.

It’s amazing to me - The number of Auburn ‘fans’ on social media, in general, that are literally saying Auburn doesn’t belong in the tournament and subsequently bashing the coach. Personally, I just can rationalize that logic. Even if I thought it, I would say to my personal friends and family in private, but would never publicly shite on these guys chances of getting in. Makes it easy on the committee when a fan base says- ahh F’ it, don’t compare us against other bubble teams we don’t belong and we hate our coach. Get what you deserve. Against my moral code and I do subscribe that AU is family. Just my take, makes us look dumb. Taking it out on you here. Apologies.
