1. Has made the CFP.
2. Has won big games against top 10 teams.
3. Knows how to run an offense.
4. Handled the Nico business really well. No one is above the team.
5. Tennessee fans may be getting restless and he could want a change.

I like Heupel more than Kiffin.

If what I’m hearing about Saban isn’t true, Huepel would be my second choice over Kiffin by a mile

Unless they get Kiffin to come back. Tennessee isn't going to do better than Heupel.

I would be in if it was Huepel.
That’s a good hire honestly.

He should definitely be on the short list.

Heupel works for me but I don't think he is on the short list.

The case for Heupel is all fine and dandy, but if OU ever opens up (it will eventually) does he leave us for his Alma mater? A place he was a star QB at? The optics don’t look good when a guy leaves you for another program. Also you’re talking about having a coach for 3-5 years and having to start all over again.

I think things ended badly when he was coordinator there.

Pretty sure OU burnt that bridge when they fired him.

It would be a grand slam hire.

If you can get him to leave Tennessee you don’t think twice you take him and run.

No, he's on the fat list.

Would be a solid hire imo

His defenses have been better than Lane’s

Why is he being ruled out? No interest from his side or is he not someone Verge is considering? Hard to understand why he wouldn't be worth an interview
