Not really. He isn’t a great passer. He just has a big frame, and can move around.

Feel sorry for him

I don’t. This isn’t 2000. LSU paid him 4 million dollars to turn into Brandon Harris. By all reports he was a lazy couch potato this offseason. You don’t get the luxury of sympathy when you’re getting paid big bucks to do something. That fricker was laughing on the sidelines and disinterested the second he got pulled. Kelly and his bandits robbed us.

The case for Heupel is all fine and dandy, but if OU ever opens up (it will eventually) does he leave us for his Alma mater? A place he was a star QB at? The optics don’t look good when a guy leaves you for another program. Also you’re talking about having a coach for 3-5 years and having to start all over again.

The spelling is right buddy.

Dabo is a schmuck and is on his way out the door at Clemson.
It’s truly remarkable to stop and think that Nuss got 3-4 million from LSU this season. Kelly and his bandits robbed LSU out of millions.

From now on, if LSU gives a guy a massive NIL deal, a requirement needs to be, putting in work in the offseason.
Kiffin will have this entire fanbase rejuvenated overnight. Give us a big time, capable, young, energetic and hungry coach. Playtime is over. LSU is an embarrassment right now, and I’m ready for LSU to start the ascent up the mountain again.
You’re the retard with zero football IQ. I wouldn’t be shocked if you didn’t watch the game at all, and just looked at the box score. Read between the lines. Buren isn’t special, but Nuss is garbage. Again, Buren made a better throw tonight than Nuss has all season. Fact. I don’t give a shite what your stats say.
Harlem Berry is a stud, and would/will be Elite with a capable offensive line. Yeah he fumbled today, but he has shown elite burst numerous times this season. Have to remember we’re talking about potentially the worst LSU o-line of all time. When they suck, nobody is going to look good.

No excuse on the drop from Green, but he’s still worthy.
Buren made 1 or 2 throws tonight, that were probably better than ANY Nuss made all season. The throw Buren ripped into coverage on the long 3rd down conversion was a beut, and better than any pass Nuss made all season. Buren also had a really solid run and picked up a first down. I don’t care what the Gump refs say, Buren got that. Also better than any run Nuss made all season outside of 1 run Nuss had a few weeks ago.

Sometimes you have to look between the lines. Buren’s stats weren’t great sure, but if you can’t see he gave us a better chance than Nuss and looked better you are blind.

I mean shite, Nuss was 13/15 at halftime or something other worldly, and there was no hope LSU was going to win the game with him behind Center. Stats don’t tell the whole story.
LSU will be portal shopping for a top flight QB this offseason. Van Buren is a decent QB, but you add in a new coach, especially a big offensive guy, and you land a top transfer QB the program changes overnight.

Harlem Berry, Trey’Dez Green, D.J. Pickett, Dominick McKinley are all musts.

You hope to keep guys like Kyle Parker, and Spears.

Whit coming back would be big.

He got rid of the HC, OC, and AD. There was zero reason to keep Brad Davis till the end of the season.

Frank has no room on this staff for next season. If you want to give him a recruiting role only, go right ahead. Wilson’s RB room has been awful. Sure our O-line sucks, but Durham has gotten worse and worse the further he is removed from HS.

Raymond, Baker, and Olsen should all be retained. Everybody else needs to go. From the top guys, to the analysts and GA’s.
Feed Berry like his life depends on it!

I can’t bare to watch this offense much more.
People get too caught up in the semantics of the alma mater. Louisville hasn’t had rich football history since Johnny Unitas. Arizona St. hasn’t had rich history outside of a Jake Plummer season. When one of the big boys comes calling (LSU) these guys would make the jump. Brohm, Lea, Dillingham are great coaches. At the end of the day they will never win a National Title at their respective schools. LSU could make Dillingham a 5 year 50 million dollar offer overnight, and how does he say no to that kind of money, and the resources, and opportunity LSU gives him?
quote:

IMO, if we do this we will likely ground-rule out some really good prospects. Similarly with assistants. Or maybe another way to think about it, consider the great coaches of recent (Saban, Meyer, Stoops, Spurrier, Smart, etc). At what point in their respective coaching careers would you have been willing to hire them as our HC? For example, we interviewed Spurrier after Arnsparger in '86 (see below). He had USFL HC only experience. We could've hired Saban in '95 when we hired DiNardo. Saban had been a HC for only 1 year at the time. Had we fired DiNardo a year earlier, we could've hired Stoops in '99. Stoops had never been a HC.

Good post. I was bullish on Sumrall until last week against UTSA. Maybe it was a rash decision to throw him out the window over 1 loss. What Morris has done over his short career so far as an offensive mind has been remarkable. I just trust Kiffin and Dillingham more at this point in time than some of the coaches at smaller schools.
quote:

Man fans need to drop this mentality. I will continue to say that Kelly had as good as a resume as you can get in 21 and didn’t pan out. You interview every type of candidate. Your type of thinking would’ve costed Tenn Josh heupal, would’ve costed Florida urban Meyer who was at bowling green

Or could it be, that I just happen to think Kiffin, Dillingham, and Brohm would all do better at LSU than Golesh, Sumrall, or Morris would. I’m not saying to not do any digging on the 3 at all, just saying LSU can do better than those 3.

And from all reports, the LSU boosters and big money guys are wanting to go all out, and money is no barrier. If LSU boosters want a grand slam, and money is no issue, they aren’t going after any small school guy. Could 1 of those guys do great things at LSU? Sure they could. Do the people running the show want to go that route right now? I doubt it.
Miles and Orgeron won National Titles. Most of the time when these firings happen, there isn’t anything locked down yet. Just inquiries that have been made.

LSU could land any of Kiffin, Dillingham, and Brohm and all would be great hires. I still think Clark Lea is a possibility too.
So no Saban, we can come back down to Earth a little bit and talk about the realistic candidates again.

Kiffin and Dillingham are both home runs. Young, energetic, offensive wizards. Both could and would win big at LSU.

LSU isn’t hiring, Sumrall, Golesh, or Eric Morris. You don’t buyout Kelly for 54 million, and inject millions into the football program, to get a group of 5 guy.

I don’t want Freeman. I don’t want Key. Lanning will be the whale, that doesn’t happen.

Joe Brady and Kelvin Sheppard won’t happen.

Nearing 2 weeks after the Kelly firing, numerous names have been thrown around, come and gone.

As of today I think it’s

1. Kiffin
2. Dillingham
3. Brohm

and yes Dillingham and Brohm would leave their Alma maters for a place like LSU.

Golesh is a whopping 20-14 at the powerhouse of USF. Terrible idea. If LSU is gonna go after a coach from a lower tier conference, Sumrall who has won big at 2 places already, or Morris an offensive wizard are a better idea.

It’s not like Golesh has compiled back to back 10 win seasons at USF.

USF has gone 7-6 the past 2 seasons. 6-2 this year which is the same record as Sumrall. Golesh is an awful idea.
