Agree. Vitello had Tennessee in contention every year. That’s my measuring stick.

Jay has won 2, of the past 3 National Championships. Vitello won 1, in 8 years at Tennessee.

Tennessee factually, was not in contention every year. Vitello’s first year, Tennessee struggled to reach .500 overall. Vitello didn’t make Omaha till year, 4. They may have in Year 3 (Covid Year) but no way to know that for a fact. Tennessee also missed Omaha in 2022, and 2025. Hell, Vitello missed Omaha with a super team in 2022.

Tennessee made Omaha in 2023, but that team wasn’t some daunting force. So Vitello made it to the CWS 3 times in 8 years, and did it 3 out of 4 years. 2022 they got lucky to even make it there.

I’m not sure why your bar for LSU and Jay is lower than what Jay has already accomplished.

Don’t get it twisted either. I’m not sticking up for this 26 LSU team, they are playing horrible baseball. Just saying Jay is still the best there is, and Vitello doesn’t even compare to what Jay has done.

So when does Rory get put in the GOAT discussion cause he’s building a case for himself

Well, true GOAT discussion, he’ll never surpass Tiger, and Jack. If Rory retires anywhere between
8-10, which I think he will, he could be on the Mt. Rushmore. If he gets to 9 Majors, he’s tied for Top 4. If he gets to 10, he’ll be only the 4th to ever reach double digits.
quote:

God this guy fricking sucks.

What makes you despise Rory as much as you do? Yeah it would have been awesome to see Scottie claw his way back, but there is no denying now, that Rory is one of the best ever. Certainly of his generation. I think the fact his career started off as well as it did, he faltered on the big stage for nearly a decade, then won back to back Masters, is incredibly impressive. Rory could now get to 8-10 before he hangs it up. He’ll go down as an all-timer.

I don't care that these guys are professional golfers, you could not pay me enough money standing that close to a golfer's line, especially when he's trying to wrap a shot around a tree out of pine straw. It was that long ago that Tiger, the best golfer of all-time, hozeled a shot.

Agreed. Rory could kill someone the way he strikes the ball at that distance. All it takes is a complete mishap, and it happens all the time for anyone across any profession.
The question begs, who finishes with a better career, Rory, or Scottie? A year ago, I would have said Scottie, but Rory going back to back at the Masters (potentially) and completing the grand slam, getting his total to 6, makes it a difficult question to answer.

1. Masters
2. Super Bowl
3. Wimbledon
4. World Series
5. Stanley Cup
6. NBA Championship

Masters, and Wimbledon get a boost for it being an individual sport, and souly having to rely on yourself, and having no teammates to bail you out. More recognition individually, for an individual sport, as opposed to a team sport, unless you’re a QB, etc.
Scottie having to wait on Li on 2 separate occasions for an extended period of time, couldn’t have helped his composure on that birdie putt. Just missed it.

I forgot about Burns and Lowry Lol

They haven’t shown a Burns shot, in at least an hour, probably longer.
Rory is the best golfer of his generation. Possibly with Scottie, if he’s included in with Rory. You might not like him, but for him to have won 4 majors at something like 25, and break through 10 years later for the career grand slam was impressive. He’s still likely to win 2-3 more majors before he hangs it up. He will go down with one of the best careers ever.

Where’s that guy that said the Masters sucked this year?

Likely came from someone, who crowned a champion before moving day. Ridiculous to call a winner half way through a golf tournament.
Rory, and Young with birdies on the 8th.

What a fantastic Masters this has been. I’m having the most fun watching this Masters since 19, when Tiger broke through again.

Scottie is my fav but wouldn’t at all be sad to see Rose finally get one.

Agreed. Would love to see Scottie claw his way back, but would be happy for Rose. He’s been a mainstay for a long time now. Rose deserves it. Playing phenomenal golf right now.
Scottie saving himself with big par putts. Young keeping this very interesting for us all. I have a gut feeling Rose is going to pull through.
Pulling for Burns to pull through. He’s a good golfer, but always seems to struggle in the Majors.

Assuming this would be LSU's first ever Masters winner?

It would be. LSU has only had 2 former players ever win a Golf Major.

Jay Hebert, the 1960 PGA Championship.

David Toms the 2001 PGA Championship.

Only 2 that have ever done it, and they both did it at the PGA Championship. Burns will push the number to 3 either tomorrow or eventually.
Rory has lost total control, and composure. Wasn’t necessarily rooting for Rory to lose, but I wanted to see a stacked, close leaderboard come Sunday, and looks like we will get that.

If we’re going to see a first time Major winner, I hope it’s Burns over Young. Going to be fun to watch tomorrow, and to see if Scottie can make a charge.
Holy crap, that was an awful pitch from Rory. Cam Young is about to take the lead. Still think Scottie will push tomorrow.
Li and Day looking like they are about to each drop a shot. Sam Burns taking care of business and not making mistakes, while everybody else is.

Tomorrow is opening up for Scottie to make a big push.
I just laughed out loud when Nantz came on the broadcast for Li’s shot.

“What, in the world, was that?”

Rory missing the bogey opens this up to possibly everybody at 7 under or better.

re: Survivor 50 - Premiere 2/25/26

My hopes for this season are slowly starting to fade away if I’m being honest.

I was really hoping for some old school Survivor play, and big moves/blindsides happening. Maybe even some great idol plays or great tribal councils. We have gotten none of that so far.

I have no idea why we are resorting to this new era Survivor stuff with many of the players being “old school”

Being honest, the second they kept the location in Fiji, and kept it at 26 days, I should have known it would be more of the same.

I’m not a fan of 3 people going home in 1 episode. Yes we started this game with 24 players, I knew they would have to do things to get rid of players, but that’s even more reason as to why they should have gone back to 39 days, at least for this season. The “budget” doesn’t allow for it. Yet, this was one of if not the most anticipated season of all time. Certainly in the last 10-15 years.

I was rooting for Colby as my #1, and like many have said the way he left was pretty shitty.

Also Dee talking about “it just really sucks we have to send home Colby, Coach, or Cirie, icons of this game, they wont be able to vote on the winner of 50!” She says that with a straight face, and somehow it was automatically accepted that Emily was being kept. Emily has become my most disliked Survivor player possibly ever. She was horrible in her first season. She never deserved to be here. She’s horrible now. She runs her mouth about everything, is not a challenge threat, does nothing noteworthy at camp, and is not some strategic threat. Yet somehow, Christian, Devins, Ozzy, Dee, Cirie have taken her under their wing, and it’s just a given to them Emily needs to stay. So Colby a legend of the game gets taken out with ease, instead of Emily, and Dee sits there saying how much it sucks Colby has to go home and can’t vote on the winner. Never a thought to get rid of Emily. Christian didn’t think to get rid of her either when she opened her mouth numerous times.

At this point for me, it’s Ozzy, Christian, or bust.
Christian, Ozzy, and Coach have gotten the most screen time for sure, and probably in that order.

Still will root for Dee, Coach, Steph, and Jonathon as well.

The Pirates manager pulled Skenes after 5 innings, and only 77 pitches. Pirates were up 4-1 at that point. The first pirates reliever proceeds to allow a base runner and then gave up a 2 run homer making it a 4-3 game right after Skenes got pulled. Luckily the Pirates did something they never do, and piled runs on after that.

The Pirates are a horrible organization, and this manager seems to not know what he’s doing. I get Skenes pitched in the WBC, and it’s early in the year, but why pull Skenes when he’s dealing at only 77 pitches? Skenes would have been good for another inning. Luckily the Pirates won, but no way Skenes turns it into a 1 run game either.
