All a good thing and there shouldn’t be any other way to look at this

Eye in the sky don’t lie

Glasscock will source better
quote:

Most assistant coaches always follow their head coach. Our new RB coach has been with Lane for 9 years. Is that nepotism?

lol no. He just upgraded his brother from an analyst title to Co-DC title, guaranteeing he makes significantly more money at a minimum

quote:

Coach has the right to choose his staff.

This is what’s referred to as a classic conflict of interest

Does it happen? Yes. Should it happen? No, it’s a horrible idea.
Always felt like Davis was the one assistant he was asked to keep, hence why Woodward made him interim for the bowl game

We had to lure Davis away from Ark late in the process before that season so likely some promises made

Kelly even brought in one of his former OL coaches as an analyst, almost as if to have someone in the bullpen he wanted

Always seemed like an odd situation. Davis obviously isn’t a star coach but you can also see why the culture may have been tense/bad in that room. They weren’t very productive when they had Campbell/Jones/et al

Got you to post about it = goal accomplished.
Looks like we’re gonna have to tariff that u
He’s from Dallas.

He’s played at two different schools in as many years of college.

Turns out people like money.

Not sure why this would be a surprise to anyone if it happened.
I’m guessing Frazier, or even Lacy
quote:

don’t care the circumstances, it is a pathetic example set by a former tiger.

It’s not like nobody is there to coach. You could look at it like he’s giving another young former Tiger an opportunity to lead the room and coach the DLine for a month which would be helpful to Rasco’s young coaching career.

I’m sure it was mutual and LSU is winning more than Kyle on this. Probably stopped paying him last month and no buyout needed. We all can see the program is in transition anyway and even if this were a good bowl game (it’s not), you have coaches for other teams coaching LSU, players opted out left and right, etc. The reality is that we shouldn’t make too much out of KW not coaching.
Has KW been at bowl practice?

Wouldn't surprise me if he quietly resigned after the regular season and told his alma mater to save the money. It's not like he needs the salary or buyout. Go spend the holidays with his kids/family.

Can’t confirm Baugh but they already have another SEC back lined up.

This is likely your answer.

It's Texas. We all know their NIL prowess. They didn't just let Wisner and Baxter walk unless they felt they had something better lined up.
I actually think good chance he’s gone

The Smith/Lacy stuff has been known for a long time by Lane/Golden.

If Lane is taking Smith and the all-SEC RB, then Golden is taking Frank and…

Makes sense. Frank was his connection to LSU. Why be second string when you can start. Ole Miss will pay him
Titles cost money and come with pressures and expectations all around

Like Charlie Weiss becoming the highest paid OC despite the reason for hiring the HC was because he was the offensive genius

I guess if Lane wins it’s all good. Or else we’ll be looking back at things like this saying “why did we allow Lane to hire his brother as Co-DC?” or “why did we ever allow Lane to pay his pressbox eyes more than any OC in the country?”

I just like shite built right from the foundation
Maybe

Or you could have a situation like the 2023 team where the offense is humming and the defense is trash

All Baker’s fault? Easy to kick to the side for his brother to be promoted as the cure?

Or what if they’re good and Baker gets a HC gig, does that mean Lil’ Kiff steals the clout and gets elevated?

Not a fan of nepotism. It’s one thing to allow Kenzel to ride the bench, but this is on another level of awkwardness
quote:

Spanos will not be primary coach.

I guess we are in to announcing analysts now days

Definitely feels weird and a bit undermining for guys like Baker/Peoples
quote:

Not with linebackers. I mean it’s 100% just a reason to pay him more money. You don’t hire a person with the exact same titles as someone you already have.

Awful look.
What about the nepo hire at Co-DC, that’s much worse
Weird title especially from Baker’s standpoint. The HC’s brother is taking half your title. Just weird nepo vibes. Not a fan of it

Same with Kevin Peoples who apparently gets a sidekick too. Unless he’s leaving and we don’t know it yet.
