I have watched others do it, but I cannot imagine having to bury one of my children. May God comfort and keep you.

My heart breaks reading this but also soars at the beautiful spirit of love that you have for your son. In the end, after all the births and all the deaths , it is the love we have for one another that sustains and remains. God bless you.
Rest in peace, Jeff. And prayers of acceptance and peace to all who knew and loved him.

quote:Sir, as a father myself, I truly cannot imagine. You were blessed that he "outkicked his coverage" (screw the damn statistics) for 20+ years, but I understand that is cold comfort in this dark hour.
Today was the funeral for my youngest son
It warms my heart that you were so present for your precious son's life that you took onboard all those little moments over the years.
You sound like you put in the hard work, and I'm sure Jeff always felt it was a great honor having you in his corner.
May he rest in peace and may you and Jeff's mother find a way to know peace as well.

I truly can’t imagine your grieve and I pray that you can find peace knowing God has him now and he has never been happier. I’m sure he would want his Mom and Dad to not be sad but to be understand that he no longer suffering and he now knows all the answers . God bless you Purple!

Your son outkicked his coverage, and based on the mark he left upon you and your wife, I’d say brought an extra 20+ years of good into the world.
You did great, he deserves those tears.

Thank you for sharing this. That had to be extremely hard to type out. He sounds like one hell of a fighter. I'm so sorry for your loss. May his memory bring happy thoughts in time. RIP to your son. Hopeful you and family the best in this time no parent should have to experience.

"All things happen for the good of them that love God". The promise of those who worship God ("God IS Love") is eternal life. Eternity is a long time, and one life is as one day. We put in our hard work, and we need our rest. The 'rest' is seeing first-hand that which we choose to believe. Jeff sees this and knows that the burdens which challenged him in this life, indeed made him a better person for the future. And you and your wife's tears will further cement your love toward the future. And given where this World is moving, it may be a blessing for the Good Lord to call your Jeff home.
Pain shapes us in ways that happiness cannot. Albeit the purpose of pain is to gain the happiness found in love; just on a much larger scale. "I come that ye may have life, and life more abundantly...".
Prayers that the Holy Spirit comfort you and yours, Ph.
