Koren Food (Store or Restaurant) from Baton Rouge to Pensacola Beach?
Posted by DieSmilen on 3/17/25 at 9:47 pm
Kind of unusual request. I am taking my family to the beach for Easter and we will be traveling from BR to Pensacola Beach. My wife really enjoys Korean food and I would like to swing by and get her some but have no idea on where to stop. Any suggestions. She puts up with alot, so I feel it’s the least I can do.

re: Colonoscopy.... How do you drink that stuff?!?!

Had mine monday. I suggest opening couple of bottles of sprite and letting it sit overnight to let the carbonation out. Then shove it in your freezer to make it as cold as possible or slushy. Mix your prep about an hour before you take i and stick in in the freezer. I did a big glup of prep followed by a swig of flat ice cold sprite. I didn’t feel the urge to vomit it up.

re: Mom is going to a nursing home (Updated pg 7)

She has her social security and pension from teaching for 40 years. At this point she doesn’t use the home health part of the complex but we have kind of built that into the budget if needed. We are in the process of selling her home which would give her additional funds if needed. The only thing that is not furnished is electricity but it has ranged from $45-85 bucks since last august. She had week were she didn’t feel like walking to the elevator and they brought her food to her twice a day at no extra charge, a couple of the places I looked at were $5-$10 per meal.

Sometimes its about dignity of the loved

My father died last Valentine’s day before reaching the age of 89. I toured a bunch of places in BR for my mom, who is 93 and very mobile. She moved into an independent living facility at $2850 a month, like a one bed room apartment. She regrets not moving into it sooner with my dad. They have a catholic mass on Saturdays and the go
to Walmart once a week. Tuesday they are going to Sammy’s off of Highland (lunch out twich a month), two meals a day. Today they had the highsteppers come, which is a 96 year old Lady who still does tap dancing. I go by 2-3 times a week with groceries and her grand kids. My oldest stays the night every once in awhile. It has been a wonderful place for her and us.

re: Water dripping strategy - Official Discussion

Basically what everyone else said.
1.) drip a sink or two
2.) time delay dishwasher
3.) time delay washing machine
4.) empty my ice dispenser 3/4 of the way, so it makes ice evert so often

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will look into a few. Its so hard because I plan to invite close to 60 people but its a crapshoot to see who will show up. I am racking my head trying to think of a location that will let me order $500 worth of small apps and such and let people go sit down and order a meal on their own if they want to, dont want to be stuck with huge alcohol bill at the end if the night.
Private Rooms at Baton Rouge Restaurants (Casual)?
Posted by DieSmilen on 1/5/25 at 8:32 pm
I am helping put together a birthday party for a friend and trying to think of all the casual restaurants in Baton Rouge with private rooms.
I know Tio Javis has that small room in the front right. Drusilla Seafood has rooms but not sure what other causal restaurants have rooms for 30-40 people? I know when Roux 61 was Boutin’s they had several rooms and a patio but not sure they are still there.
Thanks for any help.
