I’m not saying Arkansas should absolutely have more on the list, but I will say if we only get one on there, it’s not Kibbs.

Yeah... that's wild, man. It's almost like... let's go out of our way to make an against the grain pick.

Everyone agrees that Wright's has the Arkansas game on lock. And if you have to go with someone more old-school and traditional, then Craig's tends to be the agree-upon choice. Kibbs is just weird as a choice.

Hoots BBQ in McGehee has some damn good Q. Maybe not top 50 in the South, but neither are half these places.

Garden and Gun posts pretty pictures but otherwise their content is shite. My wife gets that magazine every month and I often see articles about topics that should be interesting. And they almost always end up being lame, poorly written and generic. This piece of shite list with Big Bob Gibson and Dreamland (at 3rd overall lmfao) is par for their course.

Surprised to see my favorite GA 'que place on the list. #2 Fresh Air

It's great, just surprised it got noticed on a list like that.

I'm gonna be honest, their picture was one of the ones that looked like shite

I'm saying it. Every bit of bbq I've had in Arkansas has been very good. I much prefer bbq in Arkansas, MS, and Tenn. then anything I've had elsewhwere.

Their home office is located at 701 East Bay Street, Charleston SC. That would explain the supposed bias, but a few of the Charleston area joints are really good.

It's just simple, perfectly smoked and chopped pork. Pile some meat in a folded piece of white bread, dunk it in the Brunswick Stew and take a bite of heaven.

It's not really fair to compare a place like that to a place that does a good job with ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork, sausage etc. and tons of different sides.

It's an apples to oranges comparison. Fresh Air does one thing, and they've done it to perfection for almost 100 years.

I'm biased by what I ate growing up, but if a BBQ joint doesn't serve a solid Brunswick Stew, then it really shouldn't be considered a legit 'que restaurant... at least in the Georgia style that I'm used to. And Fresh Air's stew is as good as you can get in a restaurant.

Since when is Missouri and Maryland considered the south? Also, is BBQ the only thing to eat in NC?

It really looks awful. I'll hold off any final judgement on a place until I taste it, but there is nothing in that picture that looks half decent.

Heirloom BBQ in ATL should be in the top 25 of that list. Texan husband, Asian wife, awesome Q. Look at their instagram if you are a doubter.

Gonzo's is definitely my #1 in Louisiana. Koal's in Alexandria is my #2.

It's overly simple. I absolutely HATE that shitty vinegar Georgia sauce. And yet love Fresh Air's sandwiches because the bbq outshines my hate for the sauce. I think 'joint' is about the best word for Fresh Air, certainly not 'restaurant'.

But I prefer Southern Pit, and Oink Joint or even Piggy Park to Fresh Air, but every now and then I need a good Fresh Air sandwich. But no way should it be 2 unless it's purely historic reasons because that sauce only is good to a very small amount of people.
