I pray no one moves here. Why? Because when sh!t hits the fan, we can protect our state borders and be self sufficient. We have enough land, water, other resources and animals to support our 4 million person population. And we should have enough surplus for trade purposes.

I don't want our population to grow. I want people to leave.

If West Virginia and New Mexico had a better tax environment for retires they would get a lot of attention. Beautiful areas if you don't need a job.

Honestly, it’s surprising to me there isn’t a strong trend

South Carolina

Top 10 states with the biggest declining rate

I think the biggest thing you can take away is Ms, La, and WV are utter shitholes. Not expensive, not wild politically, cheap, and yet people are still fleeing in great amounts

Ohio and PA are surprising. No reason those industrial states should be in that bad of shape

South Carolina decided to be an automotive state and it’s working well, our car industry and shifted from Detroit to South Carolina

What? Just SC? AL has been a major player in the auto manufacturing for over 20 years now. It's not just SC. It's SC, TN, AL,GA, KY...

The medical device manufacturing in AL and TN is growing at an astounding rate over the past 7 or 8 years. I don't understand why LA couldn't diversify just a little bit outside of the petro/chem/refining industry.

There’s a reason many of us are here. I consider myself a political refugee from Illinois. They can have it.

Louisiana needs to either get a major city to start being the economic hub of the state, or it needs to do what South Carolina did and make a specific niche market the way out of poverty

You are certainly welcome here. Can’t blame you for getting out of there and its not your fault that Charleston and Mount Pleasant city councils are whores for developers.

They’d rather pave over a historically black neighborhood block to put up another 6 story high rise of apartments before they’d protect charm, history, and culture of the Lowcountry.

Sadly, it’s only a matter of time before the hidden gems of SC are discovered and overrun by northeasterners.

Another big issue is that Cajun culture historically *does not* put a lot of emphasis on economic productivity and enterprise.

The biggest issue is that the culture there doesn’t put emphasis on education and work ethic.

I've seen a lot of pants on head retarded shite on this board before, but this is a new low. Do you know anything academically about Cajun history? You do know Cajuns differ distinctly, culturally and ethnically, from Creoles and black people, right?

If you're trolling, good job, you got me good. You can knock it off now.
