There is a tsunami of stories coming out about the total fraud in Minnesota, California, and everywhere in between. I also recently heard the story of the Los Angeles area "Fire Aid" concert raising 100 million dollars and all of it going to NGO's who didn't help a single person affected by the fires. If they did anything, it was to give out gift cards to a few folks. (fraud alert). This is a big part of the reason you can't understand how someone you know drives a Benz, has a nice house, but has a "job" that doesn't match the rewards.

Where does this rank in the plethora of problems in our country? How do we change it? Also, as a conservative, I can't blame just democrats. The Bush's both made major pushes towards this model in their administrations.

I think you are right and the spotlight on the sameness of every aspect of our lives now is exactly the numbing feeling I get when I look around. There is zero reason why MCDonalds looks the same as the local family dental office, but they do. Cars have much less differences than they used to. Maybe this is a physical representation of the internet age and the inevitable singularity of our civilization.

With Miami being back on the big stage for the last two years, and with the glut of personal stories that Sports media run with, we would have heard SOMETHING about this. Hell, the National Media ran with every story that made BK look bad involving off the field player issues. Maybe they didn't want to affect the image of Mr. Baines for some particular reason.
