When was this? Would be the perfect time to bring it back. Let Reggie’s die. New ownership keeps the riff raff out.

They did this a long long time ago, but dress codes and showing a student ID was racist.

Somehow DIOR keeps theirs….despite 12 being injured in a shooting there.
The bar didn’t sell the bullets. But I get it. This will be a continuous stream of incidents.

Fricks stole my Abita beer from me on my opening night freshman year. Everyone had piss poor beer. They could keep it. My Abita was too much for Reggie’s. I repaid them by puking my guts out all over the bathroom floor later that night.

Good. That's what they get for kicking my buddy out in 2004 for having a fake ID.

I got kicked out the Friday before a Florida game in 2009 bc I had a Florida drivers license. I’m a Florida resident that is an lsu fan. I tried explaining that to the guy, he didn’t care lol. Even had an lsu polo on.

They had a jersey shore sign and at the bottom it said LSU id required. Weekends always required an LSU Id until people started calling it racist. definitely in 2009-2011.

why stop at that bar
they all do the same thing

Reggie's was easily the most notorious for this though. My freshman year me and my best friend went there after finals and happened to run into his sister and her friends who were only 16 and still in HS. All with wristbands and drinks and they didn't remotely look passable for 21 When you turned 21 you were too old for the Reggie's crowd. It had a reputation that was the worst kept secret, I'm honestly surprised it took this long for something to happen to them, and it's very sad it took something like this for it to happen.

To me it’s not so much the underage drinking as them knowingly letting in troublemakers/riff raf with no lsu or college affiliation. This wouldn’t have happened if they kept the trash out.

I get your point, but how exactly would a bar require college affiliation and how would that type of requirement allow for a profitable business?

Some of the Tigerland bars tried to require LSU ID's or dress codes a while back but the race-baiters were on them with quickness

NCAAP attorney, Ron Haley has video evidence from Reggie’s and has already deemed it exculpatory.

Kiran needs to get ahold of this video.

This is a travesty. The problem isn’t that Reggae’s is serving minors. The problem is the drinking age is too high, and rapists are getting away with raping and murdering people. You can victim blame someone who’s robbed while pumping gas in a bad neighborhood saying “they should know better”, but the real fault lies with the individual who is actually violating someone’s rights.

Should she have been more responsible? Yeah.

Should bartenders have been more attentive and cut her off? Maybe, but that’s a difficult judgment call in a crowded bar.

Should the person who raped her and dumped her body not have taken advantage of her intoxicated state, which they likely greatly contributed to? Uh, yeah. Let that guy be f&@ked to death in prison.

You know, if it weren’t for all of the murderous rapists and thieves going around without being thrown in prison, none of those situations would be particularly unsafe.

I was there late 80's and never went to SI.. Always went to Fred's on Thursday afternoon after Louisiana History to get the fresh squeezed orange juice screw drivers.. I would drag my sorry arse out of bed on Friday morning for Greek and Roman Mythology.. Then go back to New Orleans to party... Come back to BR on Sunday all hung over..
