That's the point. I post that beautiful poem all the time. Last was when Jay Briscoe died.

Corrupt city officials and their shite zoning is the reason br is a dumb and will never recover

Bingo!

You can have any piece of property zoned for whatever purpose you want...as long as you grease the right palms. Want to erect an apartment complex adjacent to a nice middle/upper class single family residential that will become a shithole in 10-15 years and take the neighborhood down with it? No problem. Want to put a shitty strip mall right in a residential area? Sure. Why not?

Reggie's can go to a 19th JDC judge and make that case anytime before their hearing if they think it was excessive time until their administrative hearing. They wont because they'll look even worse and clearly have no argument.

I feel like you're specifically talking about the apartments they're building at Burbank and Bluebonnet behind the Wal-Mart.

It's fricking terrible that those are allowed to go up right there if only for the immeasurable negative impact on traffic right there, let alone what you mentioned.

Unless I am mistaken, in the 1950s at LSU, these incidents were generally unheard of. The drinking age was 18. What changed?

All of Burbank is going to be a shithole in 10-15 years. Just like what happened to GSRI and now Tigerland.

The most interesting part of Kiran's article... a mural of Madison was painted by Rodney King

If you are old enough to serve and die for your country you are old enough to drink. Give them their license back.

Pretty talented artist who does these tribute paintings after events like this. Even did one for Allison Rice's family as well.

Not the Rodney King you're thinking of.

This is absolutely the right thing to do of course.

Looking at the decedent, she had what looked like an engagement ring on in several pics, I'm surprised she put herself in that position.

The killers are scum, but her leaving with them in that condition was horrendous judgment, and she paid for it with a night of terror. Just awful.

You'd hope another woman at the bar (an employee perhaps, or maybe the manager) would have intervened in such an obvious train wreck, if out of self-preservation if nothing else. Screw their liquor license, people from the bar are going to be charged over all this.

Terrible judgment or not, I want those dudes sentenced hard. Hope they enjoy being convicted rapists living in prison.

You're not wrong. It was a skeezy place 20 years ago when I last went through there. Now it looks like the place is literally falling apart. That area is worth a metric frick-ton of cash, and it's inhabited by precisely zero college students.

It’s crazy to me the OT is anti underage drinking. Most of the time people are saying it’s bullshite 18 year olds can’t drink. Everyone drinks from 18-21 in America.

ETA: it’s also crazy to assign much blame to Reggie’s in all this.

The indoctrination is almost complete.

These kids are all too willing to hand over any freedom or sense of independence over.

Personal accountability is gone. It must be the system’s fault.

John Landry and Darren Adams need to be sued personally into oblivion along with the IRS looking into all of the cash they have buried over the years. They are personally responsible for many underage teenagers ending up in the hospital with bac at or near death. Pure greed by the owners allowed an environment with no rules. They have blood on their hands. Someone that works in Reggie's should have been trained enough to stop that girl from getting a bac that high. In most states bars cut you off at a certain level.

an emergency suspension will be issued today. This action immediately suspends the service or sale of alcoholic beverages at this location. An emergency hearing will be held next month to determine what penalties (if any) should be imposed following a presentation of the evidence.

I'm not defending Reggies because I still shudder when I think of how nasty the men's bathroom was and I have not stepped foot in that establishment in over 10 years, but WTF happened until innocent until proven guilty?
