This right here. Deion is a used car salesman. He is doing what he needs to do to satisfy his own ego. In the end it’s all about him and not the kids and HBCU greatness like he has been saying. That’s just what needed to be said to get what he wanted and people on his side.

Tell me which coaches this does not apply to, again.

Deion is one of the most in-demand former pro athlete corporate pitchmen and one of the most famous football players of all time. I think it's fair to say that Deion is accepted everywhere in the U.S. I don't understand why we are even having this conversation about Deion. Deion isn't some bumfrick of a coach like Bryan Harsin.

I think for the foreseeable future that ship has sailed. Norvell has righted FSU. Nebraska can give Deion more than FSU can at this point provided Deion gets the recruits to come to Nebraska.

I just don't see it happening.

I don't mean to sound racist here, but part of Deion's while thing is trying to bring value to HBCUs. He is a great motivator to young black men. He prides himself on being relatable. His entire persona is absolutely perfect for HBCU culture.

I do think he can do the same thing at a P5 school maybe, but it would have to be the right fit. I could see him going to a school in the South, preferably one in a city with a decent amount of black people.

Nebraska doesn't fit none of these things. A job like GA Tech could make a lot more sense.

Its something several media types of commented on, but the reality is none of us have the requisite knowledge to know if Prime is suited for a p5 job.

P5 and HBBC might as well be playing different sports.

He might be. But to really succeed at that level, you have to be an absolute grinder, and a highly organized ceo. We don't know of Deion is either of these things. He might be. Its something that an AD would need to find out in his investigation and interviews.

I'm just not sure how the atmosphere at an HBCU would translate to a traditional P5.

Man, that is like the understatement of all understatements. Not only is Nebraska a "traditional P5", but it is literally one of the whitest states in the US. It would be a total culture shock and clash for Deion's style and personality.

I just don't see it happening. It would be a very weird fit

What makes anyone think Deion is capable of managing a power 5 program. The attention to detail and attention required acquire and maintain success is massive.

I think Deion would have them on big probation in a short time

I get the location being ideal, but GA Tech would be an absolutely awful fit for him because of their tough academic requirements. That just inherently limits their recruiting, which would negate his biggest strength. This is especially true in this new era of open transfers. It’s a LOT easier for players to leave a school like GA Tech than it is to bring them in via the portal. Houston or UCF after they move to the Big 12 would be good southern urban market fits for him.

I know it’s not in a major urban market, but I could see Sanders working really well at State. I don’t see Leach going anywhere soon, but that fanbase is more patient than most in the SEC and they LOVE out of the box coaches who do things their own way. I think they would give him a few years to get going and they would forgive the odd losing season, as evidenced by how they treated Dan Mullen.

Also, what has been State’s biggest issue over the years? They’ve never been able to recruit particularly well with any consistency, even as well as the middle of the pack and lower SEC programs. A guy like Sanders with some well-placed NIL deals could shake things up there.

I could see Sanders working similarly well at South Carolina.

At first thought this is a laughable combination. Prime Time at a corn school?

But then think about what made Nebraska successful in the past and what they are missing:

(besides an endless supply of roided up 5th year linemen)

They are missing skill players and will never have them in state. Deion would be a recruiter and would bring some instant shine to the program. He'd make Nebraska cool again and probably bring a handful of talented players form JSU. Might be crazy enough to work.

Would be doomed from the start. Nebraska fans wouldn't put up with Deion being Deion if it didn't work right away.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. Houston or UCF make the most sense to me. Maybe Louisville.

If the Huskers need portal skill players from Jackson State, they are doomed.

I think JSU has more 4 and 5 star recruits than Nebraska the last couple years.

So yes. they are pretty much doomed if they keep doing the same things they are doing now.
