That would be an odd pairing likely doomed to failure.

If it happens time will tell. But, Deion would make Nebraska a national player for recruits overnight which is something Nebraska wants. Nebraska already has the money, facilities, and big NIL budget ready to go.

Deion and Nebraska is a weird fit but Deion will bring a huge personality to that program.

I've been watching a lot of Jackson St. Videos through Deion Jr.'s YouTube and Deion really does communicate well with those kids. I think he's underrated as a motivator and getting guys to buy-in because those Jackson St. kids really seem to buy-in.

I'm just not sure how the atmosphere at an HBCU would translate to a traditional P5.

Don't believe that for 1 second. 0% chance Deion goes to Nebraska.

I have been to Lincoln Nebraska a few times. That would be a shitty fit.

Deion's approach at Jackson St has to be viewed in a vacuum. Those kids don't have near the resources, facilities, etc. available to them that a major P5 program does.

In the sense, Jackson St is easy to create that culture bubble he seems control. Easier to get those kids to buy-in to the "one-path, my vision" approach.

Not saying he can't be successful but he controls alot of levers he likely wouldn't be able to insulate against at a major program.

I would love for this to happen, just to see how it plays out.

Some people say that if Deion can recruit and win at JSU, he can do it anywhere. Others say that Nebraska will never be elite again because of their recruiting disadvantages. There are likely some posters here that have said both. It would be a fascinating experiment.

It would also be entertaining to watch the media try to digest this hire after they ridiculed Brian Kelly all offseason for taking the LSU job.

Would be a complete disaster. Yes, he may be able to grab a few 5* guys initially. But the level of competition he would face at the FBS level far exceeds the terrible competition and coaching he goes up against in the SWAC and MEAC. Those leagues may have a few great players here and there, but the overall football doesn't compare to even the top FCS programs.

With losing at Nebraska would come criticism. Deion was a tremendous player and has only had success at a small school no one outside of the SWAC pays attention to. It would be the first time in his life he received criticism on his performance and I don't think he would handle it very well.

"Recruiting disadvantages". Years ago Barry Switzer, then the HC at OU, said that the biggest issue he had to over come in recruiting was that "in Dec, Jan, and Feb the only things to do in Okla and Neb. are bowling, movies, and skiing. Things black athletes are not into."

I don't think Deion leaves JSU until he gets the call to go to FSU.

That would honestly be great. I would like to see what he could do but I would not want my team to hire him in case its a disaster, and I would not want a conference rival to hire him either in case he's smashing success. Either one is as likely as the other to happen.
