CUM buster is a liberal freak pos. Keep cheating on your wife.
Trying to scare Lane. TOO late Urban, its happening.
Everyone knows the only reason gov Landry is even involved is because LSU dont have a president yet not to mention the new hc will become yet again the highest paid state employee in Louisiana.

At the end of the day, the decision comes from the same place as the money does - the big time boosters. No different than the Bull Gators in Gainesville.

Being a state university, wasn't it his role to kind of step in for the university president role for things like this when we don't have a permanent president? that was my understanding of the logic of why he was involved from what people have said. If so, then it's normal just probably doesn't happen that often. If that is not how it works given no president and being a state university then it is a bad look. Louisiana politicians from years past don't have the best reputations around. We did get Tiger Stadium out of a dorm project though.
He can step in. It's not "improper" for him to do so. The reality though that people often forget is even the president of the school isn't fully in charge. The Board of Supervisors always has the final say.
I would imagine in other states where the governor isn't as historically in involved in football as in Louisiana, the BOS would handle the whole process themselves.

Launch goofball Meyer into orbit. He’s an uninformed jackass who runs away from a challenge every time he’s faced with one. Idiot.

Would this not be in the Governor’s wheelhouse of responsibility to be at least somewhat involved with the discussions considering LSU doesn’t have a full time President?

Urban isn’t wrong.
LSU is an a tough spot without a University President currently.
I’d argue that position needs to be filled first and ideally someone strong enough not to let politicians and big money boosters have a say in who gets the FB job.

Urban must not know how political Lsu is or Louisiana in general
Posted on 10/28/25 at 12:27 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
It’s a fair critique but still frick urban
I don’t love Landry’s involvement and fear what it could lead to…but uhh sometimes you have to make a deal with the devil and getting out of this deal before we sank into the abyss is one of those times

Completely uninformed, ignorant take for CUM
Elite coaches don’t want to have to deal with overzealous boosters much less the fricking Governor.

So Urban points out the Gov is Republican, then lists a bunch of problems in New Orleans, that’s run by retarded liberal democrats.
Dude is an idiot.

"If this really took place in the governor's mansion, and if the governor and other non-football people make a decision, as a coach, that's an alarm," Meyer said.
Who does he think made the decision to fire Franklin. Reports I saw said it was the big money donors. Does Meyer consider these "football people"?

Especially in this new NIL landscape, that can no longer be avoided.
Money will always have its say.

There's not a person in the college football world I want to hear from less than Urban Meyer. The guy is a douche, a cancer and everything is self-promoting.

Of course it is
And people wonder why coaches fight for near-complete buyouts lol

Why are people making this a Republican vs democrat thing? Meyer is an outspoken Republican
Posted on 10/28/25 at 1:03 pm to blueboxer1119
Just upset that he may have hit the nail on the head?
Posted on 10/28/25 at 1:04 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
Tell Meyer that's how Louisians works. Tell him Gov Murphy Foster hired Saban at LSU.
Posted on 10/28/25 at 1:05 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
Well we have no president. Just an interim president so it falls on the governor at the states largest school responsible for huge amounts of tax revenue.
Landry is only doing his job and stepping in because he has too.
