Sometimes citrus trees require heavy pruning. If you have many branch off shoots with one limb covered in blooms the tree exhausts its energy thus resulting in dropping fruit or low yield. Pruning the upward shoots and shoots coming off trunk will allow the citrus to provide its energy more equitabl...

re: Kamala will not be the Dem nominee

She has to be the nominee. This is purely a financial decision. Keep the staff & personnel in place, continue the message, and the money will begin to run back in. If the money gets split from another candidate the election odds drop dramatically. The only chance the Democratic Party has is to conti...
Wow, it’s like the biggest F U media troll ever. ...

re: I think we’re going to okay on D

The talent just isn’t there to be top 25 defense. We do have an upgrade in coaching. My hopes is we see a higher level of fundamental play and discipline. I’d be really excited if our back 7 got bigger in their britches. Some of the freshmen have an opportunity to shine and if they become impact ...
Depends on the length of freezes you experience and your willingness to cover the plants. A couple flowering and non flowering plants come to mind… Philodendron: (Rojo Philodendron is awesome) Gardenia (flower) Hydrangea (flower) Salvia (flower) Various forms of Iris (flower) Rhododendron (...
Follow Huey P Long’s economic model. Tarrif every ship coming through the MISS R, tax interstate trucking, tax railway, and drill for oil. Provide tax breaks for companies who head quarter/manufacture in Louisiana. GDP would triple overnight. Levy a toll system for roads. Reduce economic welfare pro...

re: Will Brian Kelly win a NC at LSU?

Posted by Doby on 7/7/24 at 2:42 pm
Kelly is behind in recruiting elite talent on defense. This is year 3 and the defense still has a lack luster roster. We will see if Baker can coach them up but size, speed, and experience is lacking in almost every position group with a few outliers. If we cannot consistently bring in ELITE tale...

re: Live crab and Slidell - suggestions

Posted by Doby on 7/6/24 at 10:50 am
There is no such thing as a fair price for crabs in Slidell. My recommendation is to take a boat into the lake and flag down a crab boat with a couple $20. You’ll get 3-5 dozen easy. Thats how I buy crabs. Works everytime. ...
1) motorcycles are gay as frick (street bikes not so much) loud and the male version of attention whoring. 2) being in a MC or Gang is just dumb, you wear a uniform that automatically profiles you, you’re on a motorcycle that isn’t nimble, and you’re the lowest form of organized crime. No individua...

re: Grand Isle road flooding

With all the rain and winds from Alberto it’s safe to say it will remain partially flooded until Alberto makes landfall Thursday. Should fall pretty fast Thursday night and be dirty until Sunday or Monday. ...

UPDATE: LP & LC have been on absolute fire in the afternoon. There is a lot of shrimp in the lakes though so you will need live bait or fish under birds for a quick box. On Tuesday (LC) the conditions were so-so but considering the mullet and shrimp all over I thought I would get a nice box. Coul...

3-4lbs Bull Cats are freaking huge! The largest bullhead cat ever caught in the states was 9lbs in Michigan so you caught some units! Largest I have ever caught was probably 12”. Let’s us know how they taste!!...

re: Tonsillectomy as an adult

I removed mine at 30. I did my due diligence through research and references for the operating physician. I also requested that the physician not have any residents or fellows assisting. It was a breeze. The first three days were terrible but soon after that it mellowed. I did have substantial swell...
I assume you mean Lake Road in Lacombe? From the weather all last week the water has been messed up. All day Sunday the tide was falling which was pretty wild. I played around in the afternoon by goose point expecting a tide change that never happened. Caught some trout and reds, infrequently. Co...

re: Excitement Level for this Season

Posted by Doby on 5/15/24 at 10:36 am
1-10 => 5.5 Last year was more exciting. With the acquisition of Carr and Thomas coming back last season was more exciting. This season we have a baseline under Car and Allen at the helm. The acceptable floor for this season is 6 to 8 wins. Anything more than 8 wins would be an overachievement fo...

re: Night Fishing Memories

Posted by Doby on 5/4/24 at 9:46 pm
Night fishing in Grand Isle off docks was peak fishing. Start the day baiting crab traps and running them at a camp. Afternoon boil. Pop would grab live bait @ 5pm. Go to sleep @ 8pm if you could. Wake up @ 11pm catch a limit of trout and redfish to soak on ice. If you ran out of bait just throug...
The fact that you put in Michael Clayton and Dwayne Bowe in the same category shows how dumb you are.
I’m talking about YAC and historically great players in terms of best ever seen. In the BCS era Bowe & Clayton were top 15 easy. Reed was a literal RB before switching to WR. Clayt...

Look. Nabers was really good. He was fed a lot of deep fades. He’s strong for his size and no doubt good after the catch. But “the best yard after the catch WR you have ever seen.” I don’t know about that. Jamar Chase cut his teeth on YAC. He was straight up nasty. He’s the most recent great YAC WR ...
Who is better? In college
That wasn’t your statement. You said, “Nabers is the best run after the catch receiver you have ever seen.” I’m telling you that’s a stupid statement. Not only for the history of college football but for the SEC over the last 20 years, and LSU over the ...
