Why do they have to be relegated to ULM but ULL is Louisiana? Shouldn't they be Louisiana also?

Because they lost to us 70-20, and they have a budget less than a few Southland teams. Plus, we are just that awesome.

Anyways, you hate to see this for any coach that didn’t have a chance the second they walked on campus. That school has been bleeding money for years now.

What you gave is certainly not a reason for ULM to not also be Louisiana.

It wasn't that many years ago that we beat Arkansas, sent Auburn into OT, and almost beat Baylor. It's great to see our neighbors (La Tech, I'm talking to you!) hope for us to fail so they can gloat and our other sister school (ULL, I'm talking to you!) gloating and hoping for failure as well. Not been bleeding money as many years as you seem to think.

ULM isn't destined to be this way forever. I remember a time when we regularly beat La Tech (but they still thought they were better, ) and when USL was pretty close to where ULM is sitting right now.

It's not time to move down. It's time to figure out how to do better! Gorgeous campus and some great programs (especially healthcare)...we can do better!

Most of the MAC needs to drop down, as do a few MWC schools, CUSA schools, Sun Belt schools, and UConn.

Agreed! Most of these schools were better off before all the changes made in 2006. Now you have schools with a random great year (ULL, such as La. Tech 2019, ULL 2020, ULM 2012, but overall they just aren't competitive the way things are laid out now.

All the changes made just allowed the biggest and richest schools to become richer and made it harder for the regional schools to recruit. I think it was overall bad for NCAA football. It's almost made the best Power 5 schools like NFL lite and hurt the overall product on the field except for those at the very top.

Just google Louisiana Football and that should settle this argument

NLU signed him to an extension in July.

His contract was so bad that it was written into it that he gets $45/month for his cell phone. Other coaches get private plane access and Viator was fighting for his Cricket plan.

With the lack of money ya'll probably have for athletics/coaching salaries at this time, ULM could do alot worse than making a run at Tim Rebow. Try to convince him to leave Nicholls.

Not sure how much I'd like that, since I would then be drawn to rooting for ULM Football.

Going to be interesting to see how programs like Nicholls move forward. I'm sure they're taking a big athletic revenues hit right now.

The P5 types can always try to lean on their huge money donors to help keep somewhat the same pace. G5s and FCs are going to have a much tougher road ahead.

i have no idea how McNeese is going to survive this

they are so cheap they were paying Viator like $100k/year. now they're paying a lot more for Frank Wilson and lost all their revenue games in 2020

Louisiana-Monroe re-branded itself as "ULM" and basically forfeited any claim they had to stop ULL from branding itself as "Louisiana" for sports

probably because they wanted to save on printing costs

Why is the Southland not playing the spring like some?

The Valley and OVC are. They have the new ESPN deal and can get some revenue

I went on website there’s no games scheduled. That’s why I asked. Plus SFA and UCA played full schedules.

Just because our stupid AF presidents, Swearingen and Bruno were ok with it does not mean the alums were. Just ask them.

Neither school is listed on that schedule so I’m assuming they opted out of playing in the spring

I mean to say I’m okay with it is a stretch but I don’t really give a frick anymore. We have bigger issues to worry about

Then they should have done something like tell the Presidents to stop. They didn’t and it’s over. The Germans nuked Pearl Harbor.
