Solid coach, but he ain’t worth all this foolishness.

Apparently accounting for the times and how things have changed is not allowed.

He is 2-8 vs UF / UGA and Bama
And he only beat UF with a WR HC interim and an OC who’s never called plays before

Ok, so how about his 6 years at Ole Miss (74% win) is better than any 6 year stretch after 1958-63.

Houston Nutt had them with multiple 8 win seasons after being a disaster under O, then he flamed out.

Hugh Freeze got them to 10-3 and 9-4 in back to back years and then fired for other reasons.

And Lane has 10 wins or more in 4 of 6 seasons. lol

You literally spelled out why hes good and then somehow came to the wrong conclusion. Impressive

Look at FAU before and after Kiffen

Howard Snellenberger 58-74
Carl Pelini 5-15
Interim after Pelini went 4-0
Charlie Partridge 9-27
LANE KIFFIN 26-13
Willie Taggart 15-18
Tom Herman 6-16
Zach Kittley 4-6

Now Ole Miss

Only four coaches have won greater than .600 since Johnny Vaught won .745 percent

1. Billy Kinard .640 for 3 yrs right after Vaught
2. Cutcliffe .603 with Eli
3. Freeze .609 with cheating
4. Kiffin .731

Kiffin can win big at LSU.

He’s gotten ole Miss to 3 consecutive 10 win seasons and 4 out of the last 5. At Ole Miss, under the same conditions that he would have at LSU, playing in the SEC. He’s as close to a can’t miss prospect of a head coach as you can possibly get.

The question no one knows is how he will perform in the pressure cooker that is LSU. USC was not good but he has matured since then. Ole Miss is not even on the same planet. Here we celebrate NC’s and there they celebrate 10 win seasons.

Kiffin can have Ole Miss legitimately competing every few years. He can have Florida or LSU competing every year. That's the difference.

Not to mention, wouldn’t you want a coach that knows how to put a winning program out there in the current situation?

I totally agree. IMO, there's about 8-10 coaches that are "good" but, unproven.

Hard to disagree with this.

I’ll be cool with the Kiffin hire. But I’ll also be fine if he’s not the hire.

A big part of me is hoping it falls apart and LSU gets Saban or Dillingham.

Delly said his contract will be incentive based.

Kiffin looks to be worth every penny.

10 wins you say?

2 in 3.5…Brian Kelly
2 in 4.9…Ed Orgeron
7 in 11.5…Les Miles

Lane Kiffin seems like a perfect fit for LSU! Y’all ride!

I'm glad an A&M fan has commented, because it's relevant.

Kelly, with LSU's resources had gone 2-2 against Ole Miss, 1-1 against Vanderbilt, and 1-3 against A&M. No offense to any fan at those schools, but I think that's the nail in the coffin for him. That's not the tier LSU wants to be in, and Kelly was settling into that... it was time to move on. When LSU is hitting on all cylinders, it owns those teams, and frankly gives UGA hell too. Regardless of where those other programs are.

Kiffin's apparently the guy they decided can get them back there. Let's see if we have him first, and then see if he can elevate things.

Kiffin blew one of the best rosters in college football last year and lost 3 games. Fans gave him a pass (will not get that pass at LSU-see Brian Kelly)
The year before he almost took the auburn job. Now this year he is one more game away from a home playoff appearance and he’s more worried about the next gig. To say ole Miss fans are over it would be an understatement.

I never thought I could be excited to be 10-1 and hate the head coach all at one time but here we are.

This team is awesome with tons of cool storylines but attention whore lane is making it all about himself.

GTFO. LSU is about to chew him up and spit him out faster than they did Brian Kelly.

Second, kind of funny how Kiffins 10 win seasons line up well with the transfer portal and NIl changes in the game.

He won 10 games in 2 of 3 seasons at FAU

2 things.

1) it sounds like you don’t remember OM football during the “Matt Luke is our coach” era

2) 10 wins 6 times. Lane owns 67% of them.

Not sure why you want down play that but these details are significant
