Nah… many different stats are important to achieving a good W/L record. Stats are not the end all be all, but definitely a measuring stick if taken in context
Iowa averages near 0 points per possession over the last 10 years and regularly wins games. You can win in a lot of different ways.
You can even lose with zero turnovers.

I’m trying to not get too excited and keep my expectations realistic and reasonable, but it’s hard not to get excited about a Top5 offense AND defense.
That combination is typically a very good sign of a team that absolutely will be competing for title(s).

Yeah I definitely don’t agree with that. Arky is without question a better job with substantially larger resources and simply a higher-profile job and league.
I agree with others that they should have gone with Morris or Fleck or Lashlee. Franklin would’ve been a great hire too but he obviously chose VaTech. I also think they would have been better off sticking with Petrino for a bit if they couldn’t get one of their main targets.
They fricked up hiring Silverfield and now paying the price. He won’t make it past 2027.

It’s close, but looks no good to me.
Ref had best angle and said no good. I don’t see anything clear and obvious that makes it a bad call. Everything I see makes it appear like the correct call was made.

You’re talking conference networks. The bigger slice of the TV $$ is the national/broadcast/ESPN network contracts
And there is overlap in that in paid subscribers

You’re not accounting for % subscribed to sports TV in respective markets (exaggerated example… 1% Subscriber in a California market is not as much revenue as 98% subscriber in an Alabama market)
And of course the inventory changed when SEC went to 9… making the initial contract error even greater
It’s really not even up for debate. Article after article after article have been written by experts in the field explaining that Sankey botched the TV deal competitively speaking as it relates to the Big10 and then compounded the current TV competitive $$ disadvantage when he went to 9
All that said… the SEC has a decent/good TV deal. But it should be substantially more $$ than it currently is. Sankey went all in for under one network umbrella and one partner
