I also find it funny, when this search began no one really wanted Nielsen. Now he was the savior of our D and not getting him elicits a total melt

He isn’t staying with New Orleans. It’s not over yet, but Nielsen is not going back to the Saints after all of this bs from the Saints.

People are going to melt anytime our main target falls through.
In this case, we shouldn't be melting over losing Nielsen specifically, but about the lack of due diligence our coach and AD have exhibited in this process.

Yep, I love that people here can only see it from the LSU/"Good of Louisiana" perspective like the Saints give a shite about that.
They are a business that is going to do what is best for them.

yep, a month ago, he was a bum dline coach who was just a bbq buddy for O, not its time to melt.
two weeks ago, we didnt offer Arnett, now O is supposedly 0-3.
Also its now unacceptable to not know someones elses private contract before offering them and also unacceptable that Nielsen wouldnt give up all leverage and give lsu his contract before they offered.
Like i have said before, many on this board need to stick to building scaffolding and stfu.

Nobody saw this coming with Nielsen
if he's been your guy since the Freeman miss, you'd think someone would have taken a gander at his contract.

What did you want them to do in terms of due diligence that was not done?

And.... zero Super Bowl appearances!

This case, Nielsen specifically, have nothing to do with lack of due diligence by LSU and everything to do with his agent not understanding or communicating a major contract issue.

Oeaux for 3 ?
Neilson and freeman are the only ones he offered. He interviewed 3 and talked with 5 . That's what I know for a fact

You stop this right here. I said this yesterday and got roasted by this board.
“This not on Orgeron or LSU...”
Whole situation is ridiculous and epitome of incompetence.

That’s his agent’s job. They aren’t giving LSU a look at his contract with the Saints.

Like I said...You don't know shite. You are just trying to justify your stupid take so you can shite on O.
I'd like to know, what wording in his contract kept him from taking a promotion to be a DC in College?
That's some odd language in a contract for a guy that's been there a few years.
Posted on 1/19/21 at 12:34 pm to Tiger Tracker
That doesn't say anything. He doesn't specify what he means there. Obviously he got incentive to stay and basically got promoted by NO. Probably getting DC opportunity there once Allen leaves. If he wanted out of New Orleans they'd let him out of his contract obligations. They're not holding him hostage. They didn't want to lose him. That's the difference.

Have you ever been involved in a hiring proces? specifically one that involves agents or lawyers??
Like a fricking agent is going to turn over a private conract during the middle of negoations. Are yall fricking retarded or just naive to how these things are done??
