Had 7.5 sacks as a freshman, never got any higher than that. He also had more tackles as a freshman than he did in 2025.

He obviously made some misevaluations in the portal. He had the CWS on his mind and by the time it was over all of the good players were gone. After this year you are losing Milam, Curiel & Brown. In 2027 this team will be much worse. Enjoy the few wins in 2026 while you can because next year will require a complete offensive overhaul and the baseball team doesn’t have the NIL funds to make that happen.

There’s always next year. The portal additions were all subpar and this team had several holes to fill. With more time after this season ends in the SEC tourney, Jay will have more time to evaluate and go after better transfer players. Looks like they are going to need quite a few. At least we got Lane!
