I really hope Nielsen gets an NFL DC offer then and takes it.

I think it says a lot that these coaches that O has relationships consistently leave him him naked in the wind. Maybe O is getting a bad reputation in the coaching circle. Pelini said he didn't want to run the scheme he was running and Canada had something similar happen with him which pissed O off.

Unreal. Two multimillion dollar programs in the same state being run by absolute f’n dolts.

couple of things...O has already pissed sean off once by job hunting while still in season when he worked for him. Now he was poaching from his staff behind the scenes before the season ended, that's a no no in the NFL

and LSU can spin this as Nielsen not being able to get out of it...if he truly wanted it they would have figured it out. Nielsen is likely getting a raise and an understanding he's the next DC. People here will rage but successful organizations fight to keep their talent in place, can't blame them.

Brody Miller @BrodyAMiller This was not Nielsen not wanting to become LSU's defensive coordinator.

I'd like to know what wording in his contract kept him from becoming a DC in college! If so, He better start looking for a new agent.

You think he stayed in NO without some incentive when he was going to get more money here and a DC job? If it was a promotion he's gone.

It’s already reported that Nielsen wanted to take the LSU job but couldn’t get out of his Saints contract. He’s not staying by choice but he probably did get a raise.

so just wondering why the melt? Saints will not release him, its not like we were privy to his contract prior.

Not taking up for O, but it really isnt a swing and a miss, he cant get out of the contract.

I do find it funny, people who have never hired anyone in their life are suddenly experts on this area.

Yep.

It’s not the saints job to keep training / breeding coaches just for orgeron to come take when he’s out of options.

Well, karma finds a way around for a backstabber like Orgeron so it only seems fair, no?

I think these guys know a lot more about what went down than you do.

Like I said...You don't know shite. You are just trying to justify your stupid take so you can shite on O.

I’m not justifying anything. Just laying out the three candidates and what happened with each. I was replying to someone that said LSU was having trouble getting people to interview, which is false.

Once again, I'll bring up the time frame and process that began in early November. 3 candidates interviewed and 0-3

Aside from Freeman, who did they want that is no longer available? Nobody saw this coming with Nielsen, and it sucks, but I don't believe they missed on anyone that they would have really wanted due to waiting on him.

I also find it funny, when this search began no one really wanted Nielsen. Now he was the savior of our D and not getting him elicits a total melt

Yup- do people think just because he’d break contract that he’d get locked in jail??

LOL- Nielsen will be getting a fat raise from the saints. If he wanted to be the DC, LSU would have cut the saints a check and said thanks.
