The man is young, has a lot of HC experience, has won everywhere he's been and is coming off of a NC appearance. For that age don't know how much better it gets.

Don’t understand a coach being in the NC and then leaving that team

was any hire not going to be underwhelming for Bama? To replace Nick Saban is not exactly easy

The last time 'Bama hired, they went out and stole Saban from the NFL, 2 years after he won a NC with LSU.

In all the years since then, the biggest "poach" hires have been Fisher (FSU ---> A&M), Riley (Oklahoma --> USC) and Kelly (ND --> LSU) unless I'm missing someone.

I don't even know who 'Bama could have hired with a similar stature to Nick Saban.

Its Bama.

The money is more, the facilities are better, and recruiting is substantially easier.

I just do not know about that fit at Bama.

I don’t think he’s ever coached anywhere near SEC country.

Exactly why he was their 3rd choice

He's had success for 2 seasons with the same star QB. He has NO history as a recruiter (and Nick was ELITE). He probably is the best available, but Bama has no idea what they're getting. Huge gamble.

Will be interesting that's for sure.

What a horrible week for Washington fans.

1. Lose the natty and your star QB is horrible
2. Looks like your rival's coach is getting poached only to epically flip it in a recruiting pitch
3. Your coach gets poached by Bama

They are about to run that AD back Tulane

He doesn't have the recruiting available in Washington to consistently be competitive at a high level. Teams like Oregon and Texas do, so it makes sense why their coaches wouldn't leave.
