This isn’t a black/white issue. It’s an issue regarding these UberWOKE college administrations! The coach self reported the incident, and that should’ve been the END of this. If you disagree, then it’s Your issue. The players wanted him to stay! That’s All that should matter. It’s primarily white leftists that continue to perpetrate divisiveness on a daily basis.

I wonder if a black coach had uttered this same shameful word, would he have been forced to resign?

Every headline I've read regarding this story says nothing about him "reading someone else's words" - they all say "he uttered a word" or "he said" a word... so damn dishonest.

I lost all respect for OU with this decision.

Learned this back in elementary school... "sticks and stones may break my bone but words shall never hurt me"

This is what Wiki has turned it into.
""Sticks and Stones" is an English-language children's rhyme. The rhyme is used as a defense against name-calling and verbal bullying, intended to increase resiliency, avoid physical retaliation and to remain calm and good-living."

he read a word WRITTEN BY A PLAYER. Context is huge, but cancel culture is rigid. Still waiting to see if the player will get punished for writing that word... still waiting (crickets)

So singing rap songs with this “word” in it can also get you canceled and fired too?

You are reading the words of the player who wrote them. It is not a reflection of you but of the player. THis is BS.

Whatever happened to apologizing and moving on? Oh yeah, NAACP snowflakes happened. Blacks say it all of the time. Freedom of speech has been squashed.

Absolutely no respect for this coach or OU in general after this display. Pathetic reason to resign and even more pathetic statement he issued.

According to other reports coming out of Norman, the students in the room didn’t think anything about it. They understood what was happening, but someone told the school authorities what happened and it made it’s way to the president’s office. They took it out of the football programs hands, and told coach Gundy that he needed to resign. So once again the culture warriors are responsible for ending a man’s career. This is disgusting.
