What is the best semi-fine dining restaurant? Have a girls trip at the end of the month and want to treat everyone to a nice dinner for paying the money to get here.

The Old Mill is good. Its crazy busy but good food.

If for some reason you end up in Knoxville you have to grab a burger from Stock and Barrel.. the "hurt locker" burger there forever changed my life.

The Peddler Steakhouse has always been good the times I have been. Chesapeake’s if you like seafood.

From another Gatlinburg thread
quote:

The peddler steakhouse and Greenbriar were both very good dining experiences.

I also usually consult reviews on trip advisor if I have no knowledge of an area.

I think The Peddler it is. Looks delicious. Normally I try to just go with the flow, but trying to plan ahead due to Covid and want to make sure I get us a table somewhere.

Peddler is decent and probably would be my choice for best too. That area really has a lack of great dining. It's got a lot of ok and decent stuff, but really lacks upper tier stuff.

It's really weird cause the wider area is definitely capable of great culinary dining. You got stuff like Blackberry Farm, Foothills Milling Company in Maryville, tons of stuff in Highlands, and lot of other good places in ETN, NGA, WNC. Kinda disappointing about that area since it has the money to bring in good places instead of chain style food dining that dominates the place.

Good choice. Was there this past week.

FYI, their system for the coronavirus crap is they take reservations at 1 hour intervals. In other words you'll have to pick 7 or 8. They have parking at the resteraunt.

Okay, I will now go with The Peddler. It is a pretty good steakhouse. My old favorites have closed. The Open Hearth is no longer there. That was my favorite steakhouse around there. The food was good and you used to see bears from out of the windows. The Burning Bush is gone. They used to have the best fancy breakfasts that side of Breakfast at Brennan's. But I digress. Go to The Peddler.

The Peddler is decent, but not memorable. Better steak than Outback, not as good a the better steakhouses in Houston.

Cool, well the trip is in Gaitlinburg. I wasn't expecting Houston level steak houses. I just wanted something decent to treat my friends to and The Peddler seems to be the spot.

Also, GD I need a name change.

Will mark that down for another time. I live about 15 minutes from Maryville, but trying to stay down near Gaitlinburg for this dinner.

I always thought a "cajun" restaurant that parodied south louisiana culture would do well there.

My wife and I just came back from Gatlinburg. It's really a town where the food could be better. The spice levels are set at 'bland' to please a wide clientele.

I never got much of a charge out of The Peddler, even though we could walk to it easily. I thought The Alamo (a steakhouse) was a notch above.
