Damn the Alamo is still open? I ate there about 20 years ago and it wasn’t much then.

The food in that area is pretty terrible.

Alamo is actually a better steak than most but for the atmosphere I’d pick the Peddler. They have some tables overlooking the stream. The salad bar is solid and they used to bring the steak to your table to show you the cut prior to cooking it. Not sure if they do that now with the virus.

Check out the Wild Plum Tearoom as well.

You have to look hard to find them but there are a couple of pancake joints there that are great

I always thought a "cajun" restaurant that parodied south louisiana culture would do well there.

There is one, New Orleans Sandwich Company.

A word of advice regarding The Peddler. You can call ahead to make reservations. I wouldn’t count on just showing up to put your name on the list. With the 50% capacity seating, you could be put on a two plus hour wait.

And if there is a wait the bar is open seating and a great atmosphere

You absolutely must make a reservation. They have a system going on where they are running a 1 hour cycle on letting people in. It works great.

No bar seating allowed right now... at least in Knoxville... I realize Sevier County might be different, but I wouldn't count on it.

Forget going to the Old Mill. It's a larger Cracker Barrel. Canned food reheated.
