My girlfriend is Portuguese but hates Ronaldo. I have reffed arguments between her and her father when Portugal is winning but Ronaldo is playing poorly (which is still good). My Portuguese is limited so it's always funny. We saw Portugal play in Atlanta in March against the USMNT. So if not the USA, I guess I'm pulling for Portugal.

Japan. NED has a bunch of LFC starters, and Allison looks like a lion (with all the hair) in goal for BRA. A little bit of pull for ENG, because I want Harry Kane to show that leaving Spurs only generates success.

France since 2006 bc of Zidane's run. Plus French played a key role in us coaches getting license.
Japan- usmnt shares some history in development.
Switzerland-- always overlooked plus love country.
Any super underdog like cape verde or haiti.

Belgium because KDB sacrificed his legs to get a champions league.
Behind them probably Norway because Haaland. He plays for City so obviously I wish him well but outside of that the guy is so damn likeable. He's just a big goofball that has an insane competitive drive and happens to be absolutely lethal in the box.

Ivory Coast. I've had an affinity towards them since Drogba, and their crest with the elephant is the best out there.
Norway - I'm half Norwegian so that's easy.
Japan - I like the way they play and the clean up the stadiums after matches. Highly respectable.

After the US, it's whoever is playing Mexico, whoever is playing England, and Norge. Norge is such a fun team to watch, and I've enjoyed seeing how much my Norsk counterparts and associates have enjoyed these past couple weeks. Conversely, and respsectfully...F el tri and the three lions.
