Who y’all pulling for other than the US?

Of course I’m pulling for the Greatest Country in the World, Donald J Trump’s United States of America. But if I had to pick a second team to cheer for, it would definitely be Mexico. I watched the Mexico vs. South Korea game at a packed bar in Houston where I was the only gringo in a sea of green shirts. I have never had more fun watching soccer in a bar. Not a word of English was spoken, nor was it necessary, because everybody knows the language of partying. Beer was flowing, the Mexicans were singing Cielito Lindo and El Rey, and when Mexico scored, that place LOST IT. You would’ve thought they just won the whole thing. Drinks were flying just like in the stadium. Compare this to every US watch party where a bunch of Bernie supporters with scarves are singing cringe songs and calling soccer football. Mexico fans = SEC, USA fans = Mountain West. Shoutout to the Mexican fans, specifically the OT 8 that was calling me papi back at the Post Oak that night.
Anyway, thread. Other than the Greatest Country in the World America, who else would you be cool with lifting the World Cup? I’ll hang up and listen.

Brazil.
And we wouldn't face them until the final.

This board makes me feel guilty bc I was born in the U.S. but my dad was from Argentina. He took me to World Cup games, Olympic Games, Copa games, all to watch Argentina play. It’s all I’ve ever known. So, I cheer for Argentina, but after that it’s always the U.S. I love seeing them play well, and I’m excited for them this year.

Root for whoever you want.
Mexicans escaped their country to still call themselves Mexicans, cheer on el tri, and wave Mexican flags while throwing rocks at law enforcement.

My grandfather was born in Edinburgh and lived there till he was 20. I support the Scots more than he does though (“half the squad is from London”)

I've always supported Dutch Soccer. Love to see the Netherlands win this whole thing.

Don’t blame you one bit. Having those experiences watching them with your old man is awesome.

After Houston. Sweden. Seeing their fans lose their shite reminded me of me in Death Valley at times.
And seeing their defense and great offense makes them fun to watch.

My mother in law is from Brazil and goes back multiple times a year so my kids all have Brazil kits lol. I don’t particularly love their players but I do enjoy watching her watch their games with my kids.
Other than that I’m pulling for all my Sunderland players. Brobbey, Xhaka, and Angullo have all scored, and Sadiki has gotten significant time for Congo.

España. Love the country, and my wife and I are working on citizenship there. Her mom’s parents are from there, and she is a Spanish citizen.
