The US needs to make developmental levels more affordable for the Average Joe. Make it financially competitive with travel ball and 7 on 7. The pay to play is hurting the potential.

You would think that with how many people are in the U.S., and how many travel teams we have had playing over the last two decades that we would have some elite players by now. Like , a team full. I don’t know, just from the perspective of a non soccer fan, this doesn’t move the needle for my interest in U.S. soccer as a serious sport.

Huge part of the problem
Soccer is basically an upper-middle class sport in this country. It’s in the same category as hockey when it comes to the demographics of people who play it.
It’s wild how a sport like gridiron football is cheaper when you factor in all of the equipment costs and everything else
