Funny how the Bible speaks of this as well. God knew.

Oh, are we pretending that the OP did not mean to suggest that all atheists were liberal when he stated:

Sounds quaint, but because I want them to be better? While I get that there are Lefty Atheists that are horrendous, "atheism" is not a political belief. It literally means "not theistic." That's it.

Lumping everyone that holds that belief into the "bad" category loses a ton of right leaning voices worldwide, not the least of which are here and people they can literally interact with.

Not that there's anywhere politically to go, but this does nothing to keep us around even though we agree in principle with most of what they do in term of social issues and politics.

I certainly don’t rule it out but considering the age of creation the Fermi Paradox also comes into play: “Where are they?”

Liberals hate God and everything Christians stand for.

Atheist don't believe there is God at all.

I would get along better with you than an elitist atheist, which I believe you are not and Hank is, than a raging liberal lunatic.

I'm an outlier. And it is the truth, to be revealed to all.

The Bible answers this question "In the beginning God." I've yet to see any evidence to refute this and God said nothing about man and beast on earth being His only living creation. Maybe someone more theologically sound can address this, but I don't know of an accounting of how the angels were created. We only know that man was created in God's image but there is no such mention of this relationship with angels. .

John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

you are right, the angels are created beings, the bible just does not get into creation detail about angels as it does about the heavens, earth, living things, creatures and human beings.

Brother there are a lot more rational thinking folks out there than crazies on both sides. At least I hope.

That's not a thing. That's a leftist lie.

We will all either catch a bullet from the left or be saved, there's going to be their leftist dystopia, and then God will win.

Will you guys EVER stop this? Being an atheist DOES NOT make one a Leftist... There are a good number of us here and yet this still gets said constantly. How badly do you guys want us from out under the tent?

If you wanted rational or nuanced discussion with level-headed people capable of separating their emotions from a complex issue that requires command of a few different components at once you came to the wrong place, son.

I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

The Taliban wing of the GOP is mostly aligned with the progs — the all triumphant State is their true God.

These types are mad at Pence because he swore in some ghays, not because he is a bloodthirsty neocon who supports perpetual Empire abroad.

What I mean is you’re wasting your typing breath. Don’t get me wrong there are lots of people here that troll well but are otherwise intelligent and thoughtful and capable of nuanced thought.
There are others however who’s thought process is more like an on/off switch. When it’s off it’s off but when it’s on the output is questionable.

Atheists are not automatically leftists. Assuming this, or demanding it be so by continually bashing atheists with one broad brush only alienates those of us who are well right of center. For what?

I agree with you, but you’re looking for logic and nuance where there is none.

All evidence is to the contrary. At least for intelligent life similar to ours.

Read up on how many things have to be exactly just so for us to be here. Not that common.

My foundation is the US Constitution, and the ideals on which it was created. As that's not changing, neither am I.

Life in the cosmos is rare. Human life, even more so. I don't believe it's woman's choice to so casually stop the beating of another human's heart, even if it's in her own body. I may part ways on the 'choice' issue with 'life at conception' folks, but I celebrate the overturning of RvW. Tell me how many atheists you know who saw this as a good thing.

Most of the people who wrote it and resided here at that time were more religious and radical than me. They said it was made only for a Christian, moral people. There was no handmaiden's tale, society was much happier when God was in it. I just want to dispel that notion that Christians have some "religious right dystopia" planned. It's so ridiculous.

I've literally never heard this in a sermon and I grew up in two lily white, old school Southern Baptist churches as you will find anywhere.

I'm in total agreement that most of people in those churches probably were highly skeptical of life outside of earth or even a non-earth centric view of the universe. I've just never heard it even posed as a serious point of debate.
